I saw Dr Kunkel for almost 10 years. He was the single most best Dr I've seen before or since and is missed greatly since he retired to Florida. He always was honest whether good news or bad and those who critics on here are I believe from people who prefer Dr's who only say what they want to hear. For myself I prefer the blatant truth and by getting that he helped me make critical changes to my health that are a big part of why I am thriving today. If you read this Doc hope you are catching citations on your boat! :)

Dr. Kinked is an acquired taste. However, he is one of the smartest medical doctor’s you will come across. I have even heard other doctors of different specialties say the same thing about how intelligent he is, but just couldn’t stomach his personality. He reminds me of Dr. House from T.V. If you are truly suffering from a major illness this is the kind of doctor you want on your side. He will attach the disease or illness like a dedicated soldier. He even researches when he is not sure or unfamiliar with what he is up against. He also will not allow another doctor to misdiagnose or mistreat you. He is serious about his job regardless of his personality. He has told me on numerous occasions, “who is the doctor here, I do not see any of these degrees with your name on it”. He only wants what’s best for his patients. You either want a great doctor, or a doctor that will pacify your feelings. I miss him.

I am not a patient of this guy, but I have had to deal with him on a professional level. He is the rudest, most aggressive person I have ever dealt with. He will not listen, even when wrong.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kunkels for many years. My husband and disabled daughter are also patients. Dr. Kunkel does have a unique style which some people may find offensive, but he has ALWAYS been there for me and has helped me greatly over the years. He doesn't pull any punches and I like that. He also helped me through my heroin addiction. I have been clean for 4 years and Dr. Kunkel has taken the time out to take me in his office and talk to me about whatever's going on in my life, I see him as a father figure. I wouldn't trade him for anything. If you are thinned skinned, he may not be the doctor for you. I even have his home phone number for emergencies with my disabled daughter.

I worked with him in the military.
He was disrespectful to staff, patients, and the uniform. Who can take a medical professional seriously when they look as if they have slept in their uniform and won't keep hair cut in regulation.
Brutally honest can be good, but it doesn't have to be rude.

Dr. Kunkle is the rudist Dr. I have ever met. He treats women poorly. No bedside manner at all. Do not waste your time unless you like being bullied by a man. I will never go back to him.
