Re Bilateral Lower Lid TC Blepharoplasty. Immediate severe post-op inflammation developed, especially the right eye. The surgeon failed to treat this condition, advising only to use warm compresses and OTC Benadryl. A hard, lg mass developed under the right eye, ca.23mm x 11mm x 7mm in size, and a smaller one under the left preventing the eye(s) from closing properly at night. The surgeon misdiagnosed these as "cysts" and wanted to surgically removed them 2 months after the original surgery. I was advised by ophthalmic surgeons that such remdial surgery should never be attempted in the first 6 months -- My Med Ctr ER visit had resulted in an immediate transfer to renowned Eye Institute and treatment with prescription eye drops and water-based eye ointment. -- The masses have somewhat decreased but appear to be a permanent problem. Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeons at the Eye Inst. advised that they are definitely not cysts, but probably granulomas and removal would cause major problems.
