I am still incredulous at the audacity of this so called “ professional”. She was demeaning, condescending , absolutely void of any type of compassion and wanted to hear nothing of my medical history in terms of timelines and symptoms.

Instead she conveniently chalked up what i have as a simple issue able to be solved by taking a very expensive prescription equating to over $1000 a month.

Coincidentally, she prescribed this after asking if i had private insurance.

Would absolutely not recommend this person void of empathy or bedside mannerisms.

I am not a hypochondriac taking advantage of a system and resources; i am a human being with real issues that affect me greatly and i was humiliated and made to feel less than , when being spoken to, by this “professional”.

Condescending C* word is the best way I could describe Dr. Laura Schiffer. I don't hate women but I hate this 'Doctor.' She was extremely hostile. Plus they went 0/2 on my referrals. Messed them both up and her staff blamed me. They said I declined an appointment. I did no such thing. Turns out the doctor receiving the referral from Dr. Schiffer had my phone number wrong. It would have been easy to fix these referrals if people were competent but it took months. And I was given incorrect information as to where my tests would be. On top of that Dr. Schiffer's office refused to give me my test results. I had to contact Sunnybrook Hospital directly and sign a waiver. Sunnybrook staff said Dr. Schiffer's office had the results. Sunnybrook treated me well and their staff & technicians seemed trustworthy. IMO Dr. Schiffer should NOT have a medical license. Do I view myself as a good person. I used to but it's garbage medical people like Dr. Schiffer that bring out the worst in me.

I had a very negative experience with Dr. Schiffer that scared me away from pursuing medical help from anyone for a while. It took a significant amount of waiting to get an appointment, and when I finally did I was let down. She made me feel patronized and ignored. I have been diagnosed years ago with a rare neurological condition and I have been suffering a variety of symptoms including debilitating migraines that have been worse lately. Dr.Schiffer told me she had no experience with my condition and then proceeded to tell me my symptoms must be from some unknown unrelated cause based on “facts” that are stated as incorrect by every other source I’ve come across. When I pointed this out she told me she was the specialist and knew best. She gave me a list of medications that she said were likely not covered by insurance (they were not), and told me to not drink 5 cups of coffee a day even though I don’t drink coffee.
She even insisted I should go for runs after I had said that jostling always makes my head worse, I walk with a cane for joint instability, and I have asthma that wouldn’t let me if I could. Maybe it was just a bad day for her, but based on other reviews I’d say if you can see someone else other than Dr. Schiffer you are better off doing so.

I have been seeing Dr. Laura Schiffer for several years. Dr Schiffer is very knowledgeable in Botox injection and performs amazing work. I would highly recommend Dr Schiffer.

My experience with Dr. Schiffer and the staff at The Mississauga Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Clinc has been postive to date. I have been a client/patient since ~ 2009 😊. I find her and her staff to be very wonderful, patient, and kind. They take the time to hear me out each and every single visit, and provide me informed and appropriate recommendations and feedback.
Dr. Schiffer (although a little late sometimes - but that is the nature of the specialty clinic and they do a good job informing clients of potential delays) is very much worth the wait and the drive! I would recommend her services to everyone!

Finally had the courage to post this. She's knowledgable but this doctor made me cry so hard I had another migraine after the appointment. She was uncaring, did not have patience for cognitive disabilities (shocking for a neurologist), raised her voice and made me feel awful. She thinks she knows what is best for me. I know I'm not the only one this happened to. If you are having experiences like this, file a complaint with College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. We deserve better.

The doctor has the knowledge but that's about it. No consideration for the patient, none. Her receptionist is horrible, there is no need for the stress the receptionist exerts on the patients, we already are sick, we don't need a receptionist that continuously is being rude, obnoxious, leaves threatening phone messages etc.

I have been seeing Dr. Schiffer for nearly three years for chronic migraine. I have seen many specialists over the years for this condition and she is the best. She is knowledgeable and persistent in finding the right treatment options and gave me hope when I had given up on finding an effective treatment. I wish she was more punctual but she is no worse than other doctors. Her staff (especially Luciana) are very kind and friendly.

Dr. Schiffer has been treating my hemi facial spasm very effectively for in excess of 12 years. She is kind, courteous, patient and knowledgeable. My life would be very negatively affected without her capable help. She is the Best !!!
