She was mean when I was in a fragile state of pain and anxiety. She shush-ed me when I tried to correct her resident on a pretty big misunderstanding of my story. I found the needle for the nerve test extremely painful and there was zero sympathy. She told me to go see a podiatrist for my very high arches, my feet numbing, weakening, burning, stinging, and stabbing. I was devastated

Her nurse is nice and so are her staff.

At first I thought Dr Mezei was ok but I quickly learned that she is dismissive and will actively talk over you as you’re updating her on your condition. One of her colleagues did a the special nerve test for OMG test and found pretty definitive symptoms and sent me home with meds, but during my follow up Dr Mezei said it wasn’t MG. Naively I asked her what she thinks the symptoms were during the MG diagnostics test. She got defensive and said she was done with me because I don’t have anything they can help me with. I began to cry and she mumbled something about a Psychiatrist referral, but I never got anything.

I was a patient of hers for three years. I was referred to her by my neurologist as she supposedly specialized in Myasthenia Gravis. In my time seeing her, she did nothing to aid my care. She did not listen to my concerns of worsening symptoms. I felt her attitude to be dismissive. She has no bedside manners. She is always running late and keeps you waiting a minimum of half an hour in reception. I once waited a full hour and a half. Last December my prescription for imuran had run out. The pharmacist faxed over a request for her to renew it. My previous dosage was 200mg a day. The renewal came through but it was for 100mg a day. With a note that this was increasing my dosage. I foolishly began taking the lower dosage. Within a a month my symptoms became worse. I increased to 150mg a day. I questioned Dr. Menzies about her changing the dosage and she denied she had. I spoke again to the pharmacist, who confirmed it was her. He even showed me the fax with her signature. My other doctor increased my dosage to 200mg when he noticed worsening symptoms. My bloodwork showed an increase in he antibodies associated with MG. Since last December I have had a few falls and my legs are increasing weaker. When I saw Dr. Menzies earlier this week. She, as usual dismissed my concerns and told me she felt I was in remission. She also berated me for seeing my other doctor a week prior to seeing her. She then told me if I was to see her again, I would need a new referral. I would not recommend this woman to anyone.

I have seen her for several years and I like her as a person but do find her knowledge can be a bit lacking. This became obvious when I mentioned to her a symptom that is in all the information brosures including the one she gave me on MG and her comment was, that isn’t a symptom of the disease. Confusing right.

Run the other way. She's up on her text book knowledge. However is arrogant disorganized and poor follow up on your chart. When it comes to bedside manner, her manners are kurt, rude, rushed. If you do choose to see her, keep a record of your own chart, this is key!! She is unable to take criticism if you have concern of your care. I recommend you definitely get a second opinion

I've been a patient for four years and Dr. Mezei has ordered quite a variety of tests to help me find an explanation to my symptoms. Unfortunately I don't believe these will ever lead to clear answers as I'm pretty confident I'm suffering from a chronic or post tick borne disease. I'm sad about this as having a definite diagnosis snd treatable or understood condition would be more favourable to me. I struggled with how long all the tests and follow up appointment dates were; hoping to use this information to guide what I should do was impossible as it wasn't timely at all. I found appointments rushed/short. She communicated a lot with my doctors and is a compassionate person.

The arrogance is overwhelming. Too bad her ego is so fragile that it prevents her from being a decent human being and abiding by the oath she took to practice medicine.
