Dr. Kovacik is the nicest and kindest dentist. I went to see him when I was about 10 years old back in the 80's and I never forgot him. He was so sweet and didn't want me to see the huge, metal needle he was using to put in the freezing. He used a technique to distract me from the pain and I used that technique many times in my life when faced with pain. 'Close your eyes and wiggle your toes. Wiggle ,wiggle! Keep those toes wiggling any time you feel pain, ok?' This not only helped to distract me from the needle pain, but it also helped me to signal him when something hurt as I couldn't speak with my mouth open. He also shaped my filling in a special shape as it was close to Valentine's day. Yes, he made a heart shaped filling in my adult tooth! I was so pleased and could feel how much he truly cared for his patients. I have returned to see him 30 years later and he is still just as gentle, kind and caring as he was when I was a little girl. It brought tears to my eyes to see him again after so many years as I had moved away. He is one of the most kindest dentists and kindest men I have ever met. Thank you Dr. Kovacik for being so kind and careful with my dental work as a young child. I still have all my original adult teeth due to good dental practices I established as a young child under his care and I hope to keep them all for many years! 'My dentist loves me ' was a sticker I remember getting when I was little, and yes, my dentist loves me and cares about me and my teeth.

I went to Dr. Kovacik for many years, as a family friend used to work there. I recently changed dental offices to something a bit closer to home, and found out that a lot of my fillings had not been done properly. My new dentist explained that my cavities had been filled without having the decay removed and as such my teeth continued to decay under the filling. He also noted that one tooth was cracked from taking when I had a filling redone, and it was never repaired. I am quite sad to hear this, because Dr. Kovacik is a kind and gentle dentist, but clearly the quality of his work is not up to standard.

I have the bad experience with Dr. Kovacik. He is a nice and polite person. However his dental skills is really not a good average as other people in this website said. It looks the money paid to the dentist just bring me the painful life. Thousands dollars are gone. The problem is still there. His front desk ladies also are really "money grab", like what the other people on this website said. I regret I did not check other patients' opnions on this website before I went to see Dr. Kovacik. Therefore I put my opnion here to do other people a favor. Be careful when you make a decision to see the dentist. The nightmare could be your current problem is not solved and new problems will be brought about. HEADACHE!

I have been going to Dr Kovacik for 15 years or so. Dr Kovacik is wonderful but his staff are GOD AWFUL! The receptionists are rude and unfriendly and most of the hygenists are rough. One of them decided to diagnose me with gingivitus and I was so upset and then Dr. Kovacik told me that was incorrect. I don't think hygenists are supposed to diagnose you? My guess is he is too nice to fire any of them. I found one good hygenist who worked there but unfortunately she has now left so I guess I'll have to take the risk with a new one!

I have been seeing Dr. Kovacik for over 25 years -- are we really that old?! I would not trust anyone else to care for my teeth. I don't understand the comments about a "cash grab" as Allan has never tried to get me to agree to any work that wasn't absolutely necessary and has even taken pity on me when I was very broke and given me a bit of a discount on some crowns. I have never had a problem with the quality of Allan's work -- my crowns have long outlasted their expected life. (To the person complaining about the cost of scaling, don't blame Allan for problems you are having with your dental hygienist!)

Dr. Kovacik is not my dentist, but I use his office. My concern is my scaling charges for almost all of my first 2 years were 2.5 units, then I was late since then all my cleanings are 3 units. I feel this is because they are compensating and not because my teeth all of a sudden need more work. I see my unnamed actual dentist because I trust him. I have been given the impression that I am being overcharged for my scaling because I was late once. After being late they made me wait quite a while on my next appointment. If I didn't trust my first dentist I would not go to this place. My hygienist has been nice and informative, but she may have been instructed or pressured to pump up the units.

Allan is a great, kind person, but an average dentist. My entire family had seen him since he first graduated; That is a lot of years of service, and money in his pocket. Over the years a visit to Kovacik was more and more of a cash grab. And i suppose that his lack of skill was compensated by his compassion and care for the patient. His staff is unfortunately not very polite, and always after the payment and money first. Now, none of us visit him any longer. We see a Dr Lippit now...check his rating out!
