TERRIBLE! At the beginning of the visit I informed him of the last provider I had seen and within 30 seconds he began yelling at me about them allegedly breaking the law. It was horrible and I was on the verge of tears the entire visit as a result. He was incredibly condescending and spent excessive time on his on personal anecdotes and cut me off constantly when I was talking. I tried to explain to him issues that I had with certain symptoms and what I wanted to get out of my medication treatment - he wouldn't let me finish half of my sentences. It was if I was talking to a wall and my opinion on how I was feeling didn't matter. I am a highly trained health care professional with an advanced degree myself, but you would think that I was just a random person off of the street who knew nothing about medicine based on how he spoke to me when I attempted to explain why I wanted to stay on certain medications (not controlled substances) that were working well for me, which he never even bothered to ask. By the way, he goes in completely the opposite direction of treatment guidelines for several very common mental conditions. He started listing off several medications, and I told him that I didn't want to take a certain medication that causes so much weight gain that it's literally used for frail elderly people in nursing homes to *make* them put on weight, especially because the med I was already using for that was working for me. He then ended the visit very rudely. He was absolutely horrible. I was astounded that any medical professional would treat their patient this way. I would not recommend Dr. Berkowitz to anyone unless they want to cry after and feel completely unheard.

DR.BERKOWITZ diagnosis and plan of care for me switched one hundred and eighty degrees when he discovered I did not have the health insurance he first thought I had. Hewhen he thought I was covered by health insurance he labeled me gravely disabled two days later when he discovered I did not have insurance I was out the door of the hospital within hours so much for being gravely disabled. I was gravely disabled from paying him the money he wanted.

Dr. Berkowitz is a knowledgeable psychiatrist. He is also very thorough and answered all of my questions and concerns. I believe I was properly diagnosed, treated appropriately and with compassion. He has always been very personable. Also, genuinely concerned about my well-being and progress. Being treated by this doctor has changed my life for the better. I currently drive 100+ miles to be treated by Dr. Berkotwitz. It is not easy to find a good psychiatrist, I have managed to find an excellent one!

My condition worsened considerably after each encounter with Dr. Berkowitz. He shouted at me througout our "chats". He appeared not to restrict his comments and criticisms of me to matters of which he had any first-hand knowledge or certainty.

I believe that Dr. Berkowitz misdiagnosed my problem, and I learned only in the end that some of the recorded symptoms were misrepresenting what I was complaining about. In fact, some were taken out of context of our conversations. When I addressed that, he refused to consider to change anything or to hear my reasons.

he AND DR. BOGART ARE THE SAME. acted very nice at first, but then when I needed serious medical attention. He told me I should look for another doctor; just when I needed him most. Only likes it when it's easy money for him. will not go above and beyond anything

He talked about his hobbies and himself more than he listened to me.
