Dr. Masciale is hands down the best neurosurgeon in town, possibly ever. He took such good care of my wife during pre op, surgery, and recovery. I honestly 1000000% could not recommend him and his staff highly enough. Thank you for everything.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Masciale, Dusty, Jessi NP, and Francis. This whole team literally saved my life at one of my darkest times. I’ve had two surgeries with him. Each time he constantly checked on me, was compassionate, thorough and answered all of my questions. I can text at any time of day with questions or concerns and I always get an immediate response. If you need an orthopedic surgeon, I highly recommend Dr. Masciale! I am forever grateful for him!!!

Dr Masciale and his staff have been nothing short of phenomenal! Our wait time is never super long, and his bedside manner is superb. More specifically, I had to have a necessary surgery at 14 weeks pregnant, and he and his staff did everything within their power to make sure we were taken care of AND THEN SOME! We were so satisfied, in fact, that we are naming our baby girl after Dr Masciale. We are forever grateful. ❤️

Screwed up back surgery on me twice and lied about why I was having pain. Did not listen, and was wrong. I'm permanently disabled.

Great surgeon cannot say enough about him. Very late for appointments but worth the wait.

Right to the point; His staff is horrible and his demeanor when he eventually shows up to visit with you is short and terrible; not worth the very long wait. The worst mistake of my life was allowing this man to operate on me in 2014. From day one, the pain was worse than it was before he performed surgery. I voiced my concerns and described my pain to him from day one and he was very dismissive. My gut instinct told me to seek other opinions and I sure am glad I did. The other consultations I had with other surgeons all agreed that he "did more harm than good". I am writing this to WARN everyone that there are better surgeons out there in bigger cities. PLEASE seek other opinions prior to allowing this man to operate on you. The "five star" reviews are more than likely from his office or staff to increase his ratings, because it is the complete opposite from the truth. In summary, even if you are set on allowing him to operate on you, please just seek another opinion just prior to see how a real Surgeon and their office should operate.

This dr. did surgery on my mom twice. She ended up in a nursing home the last 7 years of her life because of the TERRIBLE job he did. She asked him to bump her moriphin pump up from .09 to 1.0. The idiot set the pump on 10. My mom had to be on life support and took many month to even be able to eat with like a normal person. Her mind was terrible for a long time because of his stupid mistake. Please find someone other than this man. Bedside manner and jokes are fine but the best part of a dr. is knowing what he is doing and not putting a patient life in proper care not destroying them. Sure wish I could give him lower rates!

Dr Masciale is a one of a kind! He's a great surgeon with great bedside manner. Many people may not understand his humour, but I find him hysterically funny! He really cares for his patients, and his follow ups after surgery are the best. Don't hesitate to call him.

After many years of severe back pain that limited my walking that seriously impacted the quality of my life, I moved to TX and found Dr. Masciale. Yes, I did wait a little in the exam room but that was most likely because he was with a prior patient and he does not leave a patient until he completely examines and talks to the patient answering all their questions and then he sits silently allowing you to process the visit and to ask any and all questions you have. His office and staff run like a fine-tuned watch. He reconstructed my 72-year old back and I am a new woman. My only complaint is that I didn't find him sooner. His hands are from God. He has a well-trained staff that completely coordinates the care. Nothing in his office is left to chance. When you go into the operating room, you will have already met all of the people in his office that will be with you. They come up one by one and introduce themselves and tell you that I am going to assist Dr. Masciale or I will be one of your surgical nurses, etc. He has handpicked the team of 12 from his own staff and from within the hospital. With the thorough preparation I had prior to my 4.5 hour surgery, I entered the OR calmly without any fears and reservations. I surrendered to the anesthesia and surgery in the calmest that I had been in years. I had been able to ask all of my questions, never did I feel that I was being rushed. If you have an injury with your back or any other orthopedic specialty, South Texas Bone and Joint is the GOLD STANDARD for surgery and care. Even after the surgery, he is very particular and strict about your recovery and it totally has paid off for me and for many, many other satisfied patients that I have spoken to in his waiting room. I am reluctant to say, run don't walk to Dr. Masciale because it will probably mean a more difficult time scheduling an appointment. I am usually impatient and want to be seen on time but Dr. Masciale is the exception in that if I am waiting, I know that he is helping another patient.
