Dr. Grier has a lot of positive reviews both here and on other review sites, but PLEASE do not ignore the negative reviews. I have NEVER had an experience quite like the one I had at my first (and last!) appointment with Dr. Grier, and I hope I NEVER have another like it. Dr. Grier was cold, vacant, and condescending for the duration of our visit. The office staff members that I encountered both on the phone and in person were not rude to me, but they were terribly disorganized and proved incompetent of even the simplest of tasks. I hate to have to leave a negative review for anyone, but if even one person can be spared the frustration, stress, and emotional upset that I experienced, it is worth it.

I've never had Dr Grier less than an hour and half late for an appt. She has been rude everytime I have been to see her. One of my bills went straight to collections without going to me first. Her office staff has been rude to me. I've been unable to get appointments for infections and been told to go to urgent care. Dr Grier is a terrible Dr

Dr. Melissa Grier... oh boy, where do I start. I've been seeing gynecologists for over 25 years, but she is by far the worst. I only saw her once, and I made a mistake of not checking her reviews. Now after that one experience with her, the negative reviews here cannot be more accurate. I came to see her as a follow up to my annual PAP done by my primary care physician. Dr. Grier looked at it, did not do any exam on me (thank God), only asked that I come back soon, as she would be taking some tissue samples to check if my HPV has started evolving into cancerous cells. My PAP has already confirmed that it has not, so why go with yet another, but more evasive exam, I thought. What really bothered me with Dr. Grier was how cold she was. I think in our 20+ minutes of consultation, she may have blinked twice, smiled once, and felt sorry zero times. Almost as if she enjoyed saying what may possibly go wrong and how I may have already developed cancer and that I'd need to go through chemo. I mean, hello... how about we do the exam first and then talk about the doom's day? When I walked out of her office, I did not know what to make out of that whole experience. Aside from that cold experience with her, I also noticed that her office was very empty, it felt as if I was in some poor country where they have basic and outdated equipment. In addition, her receptionist insisted, before and during my visit that I log in to their website to fill out the electronic form, but she just could not make the site let me log in. I think I spent almost 2 hours in their office for a total stranger, sorry, doctor, tell me something that she assumes to be the case, in the coldest manner possible. Glad that I ended up canceling my second appointment. It just did not feel right and usually, my first impression of people is spot on.

This doctor is the absolute worst doctor I have ever seen in my life. She is so condescending, incompetent, and rude.

She shouldn't be called a doctor. She doesn't even know how to read an ultrasound properly. I relocated here from San Francisco and was in need of a new network of doctors. I went to visit her for a pain on my side. She did an ultrasound and told me that I had a 4 inch fibriod. At the time I had no idea what a fibriod was, but I kept asking her if she was sure it was that large and this idiot of a doctor kept responding with "Yes. It is a 4 inch fibriod. Do you understand what I am saying?" I was in tears. She said my fibriod was the size of my fist. Then this idiot of a doctor recommended that I get some sort of shot to trick my body into a menopause state to shink the fibriod. Something didn't sound right with this so called doctor's assessment.

After my appointment, I immediately called my amazing doctor that I use to see in San Francisco to discuss Dr. Grier's diagnosis. She asked me to request the complete write up of my visit from Dr. Grier's office. I sent the write up to my doctor is San Francisco and she called me back that same day to go over the write up. It turned out that my fibriod was only 4 centimeters in size. Not the 4 inches that Dr. Grier said repeatedly during our appointment. Note that 4 centimeters equates out to about 1.5 inches in size. Which is a huge difference from "Dr." Grier's measurement of 4 inches or the size of my fist (her words).

Needless to say, my doctor in San Francisco confirmed Dr. Grier's incompetence and recommended that I change doctor's as soon as possible. Both my amazing current doctor and my previous doctor in San Francisco advised me not to ever get that menapause shot that "Dr." Grier had suggested.

Dr. Grier recommended a horrible way to treat my fibriod. She should do women a favor and not practice medicine because fibroids are so common in women and she couldn't read the measurements correctly on a simple ultrasound picture. Which is really disturbing to me.

Dr. Grier misdiagnosed me for a month and a half and had me on the wrong medication. A month and a half after taking a new medication I still have the same issue. Her staff is terrible. They are completely lacking in empathy and can't seem to refill prescriptions on time. It takes 4 days minimum. And you can't get pain medication out of them even if you are literally unable to walk it hurts so bad. Please do not go to this doctor. You will regret it and eventually have to switch and start over from scratch. Worst doctor and staff I have ever encountered.

Very disorganized. Waited three hours for my scheduled appointment on more than one occasion. Received bills 5 months after appointments occurred. Working with this practice is difficult. I wish I would have heeded the warnings of other reviewers when I read them and chosen a different practice.

Shocked to see negative comments,I feel as though we are speaking of diff. people. I was referred by my GP when I became PG. As a 1st timer I had off the wall?'s about what I could expose myself to &if she didn't have an answer she'd say let me look into it &had the answer by the end of the appt or called me w/in 1day. She's very knowledgable, explains everything thoroughly,& twice introduced me to new tests-1was an RH blood test that detects compatibility w/baby. She has always been very caring about my comfort and how things were going rest/sleeping/work etc. i.e. I hadn't been sleeping well she'd always have suggestions, was empathetic &would remind me that we had xmonths left. I've had 3 babies with her (induced, natural, & csec), she impressed us every time WE LOVE HER. Her helpful staff always called the pharm. for prenatals/meds &it was rare that I waited longer than 30m at an appt. I referred a friend & she is happy with her as well. Sorry to those w/ a different experience.

Dr Grier is exceptional. We looked at many doctors and are lucky to have found her. Very knowledgeable and committed. Extremely responsive when we've had some emergencies and questions at off hours. Wouldn't even consider another OB for our next child.
