Glad Dr. Kirsh has finally retired. It was time. It was way overdue. Now that I am with a new doctor one thing that I am grateful for is the respect for my medical privacy. The 2 secretaries that Dr. Kirsh employed did not care for patients' medical privacy. Especially Milka who would constantly call out what was on your requisition right in front of OTHER PATIENTS!

Great Doctor but very rude secretaries who are not qualified to work in a medical facility. I've had many encounters with the one secretary Milka (not sure on the spelling) she is very aloof, comes across as being lazy. When I called to book an appointment back in February her response to me was 'No.' with no reason. She then said she was busy and hung up. I waited to call after hours & spoke with the after call centre they informed me that the Doctor was on vacation. Milka couldn't have said that to me instead of a straight out 'No' goodbye? She also comes across as being very confused when you are straight forward with her regarding what it is you require etc. I've stood for in front of the desk for several minutes after seeing the doctor and having the doctor inform her what I require re a requisition & she has me repeating what the doctor already said to her in front of other patients. Does this lady not know the meaning of 'Privacy'? Great doctor but the secretaries are extremely rude and I think they think this is funny. Well its not. No other doctor or medical facility would put up with these secretaries. Pathetic.

Extremely rude secretaries. They are disorganized & extremely frazzled. I went today and they both yelled at me & expected me to stand in the staircase during a heat wave. When I expressed that I felt faint because of the heat, a patient who was already on the top staircase talking to the secretaries told me to 'shut up.' I then asked why am I waiting when I booked for a specific time. The secretaries refused to any me. They then started to ask me questions about my medical reasons for being their at the top the stairs because they refused to allow me to go up the stairs. This is a complete violation of my medical privacy. I then asked if its ok if I sit on the little chair at the top of the first stairs they refused to answer. The patient that was on the top of the stairs yapping and having a grand old time yapping with the staircase told me to go stand on my head. This has been my doctor for over 50 years. I'm done. I walked out and wrote the doctor a letter about today's events. It was unacceptable and very unprofessional. I have nothing against the doctor but his two secretaries are extremely unprofessional and they shouldn't be in the business. Now I see why Hospitals & other medical facilities only hire people with a Medical Administrative Diploma on their Resume. These two secretaries if you ever read this please note everyone is under a lot of pressure right now because of COVID 19 but being nasty to people is not how you deal with stress. The way I was treated today by the two of you was not appropriate. I will never ever walk into that office again. You lost a long time patient of over 50 years. Good bye.

After 40 years with my regular family doctor retired and I began seeing Dr. Kirsh. He assessed that my cholesterol level were too high and told me that if I didn’t I could die.
I am low risk and never had any problems nor was it suggested that I needed meds even with a good diet.
After took the chloesterol meds my over all condition worsened. Lightheaded, dizziness and heart palpitations. This scared me and I expressed concern. He suggested trying another type of statin meds. He was only concerned with a number. I went to fill the prescription and the pharmacist seemed alarmed that he was giving me more of the same . Again my conditioned over condition worsened and the numbers were lowered.
When I again expressed my concern, it didn’t phase him and suggested trying another type of statin.
Plus he said I had get a blood test every three weeks and a follow up visit with him.
An hour and a half wait after work, rude and disgruntled receptionists plus a unclean office.
This guy nearly killed me!
Plus when I expressed my concerns he seems irritated and belittled me. Very unprofessional. Totally old school and has not updated his medical knowledge.
*I found myself another doctor and she never suggested pills for my cholesterol as long as my diet and exercise pratices were good and get a blood test one a year and only wait 5-10 mins.
I’ve been fine every since and before I signed on with him.
You be the judge.

I read the comments and I'm stunned. This not the Dr I grew up with for 20yrs. Very old school indeed. He must be 90 now. He used to tell my brother he was a fountain of MISinformation. Very behind on current issues. Over medicated my father with 4 different cholesterol meds. When I tried to tell him that I was concerned about this regiment that obviously wasn't helping, he looked at me and snapped saying that when I get a medical license, then I can talk to him. When I told him that 4 pills for cholesterol is too much chemicals, he couldn't argue with that. He gave me a snarly look and he scaled it back to 2pills. Later he bumped my dad back up to 3, so I fired him. Had all our charts transferred to my current Dr who has been wonderful, well educated, and collaborates with pts and their families. The receptionists were snooty, but he was intolerable. A real stick in the butt.
Good riddance !!

He is an amazing doctor! He delivered my dad and has looked after my family for years. I am now in my mid twenties and I trust him completely. He knows his patients health and how to prevent future issues because he is thorough , knowledgeable, connects with the best specialists and communicates well. The wait time is a little long if you are a walk in, but it is so worth it! He sees you, and after some examinations he either has an answer for you or some tests that need to be done so he can conclude his ideas of what may be wrong. I only recently moved to Toronto, but before I did, my family and I have always come from Mississauga, Oakville etc anywhere we lived to come and see him because he is the best at what he does...being a great doctor
