I am no longer Dr. Kalisz' patient for reasons, best explained by a Google search on her. I am on a limited primary provider network, so, with Kalisz' knowledge, I made an appointment with Dr. Melissa Hixson. Days before the appointment I received a call saying my appointment had been canceled. "Postponed?," I asked. No, I was told. Dr. Kalisz decided that I should not be able to see her colleague due to "professional courtesy." The inference is that in an emergency if Dr. Hixson is unavailable, Dr. Kalisz would have to see me. Of course, there are a handful of other doctors in the practice and if all of them, except Dr. Kalisz, should be ill or on vacation at the same time and I couldn't wait until Dr. Hixson's return, my needs would be so urgent they would be better suited for emergency room care rather than primary care, anyway. I hope Dr. Kalisz will rethink what seems to me to be a need to exert control where the tenets of the Hippocratic Oath seem more germane.

She is very thorough on certain things. I had 6 bulging discs and she looked at my MRI and said nothing was wrong. Her staff is not at all though. Am looking for a new doctor!

Dr Kalisz is exremely thorough and knowledgeable. I was very impressed with her. She was able to diagnose me with several conditions other doctors did not look at. She is also a great listener.In fact, I can say she is the best internist I have ever seen. I am coming back to Nashville and I am glad she is still in network for my plan. I am making an appointment tomorrow. I am waiting for my husband to change insurance companies so that he can see her as well. I have also recommended her to my parents. I cannot wait to see Dr. Kalisz and I missed her while in a different state.

As a (former) patient, I was very impressed with Dr. Kalicz' thoroughness. Unfortunately, she doesn't know how to deal with staffers of less dedication and competence. This leads to misunderstandings and she takes the resulting difficulties out on her patients. I also feel she has too many patients, although if her patients don't ask too many questions (Dr. Kalisz seems intimidated by pro-active and/or high maintenance patients) I think they'll be please with her.

Dr. Kalisz if absolutely FANTASTIC! She is extremely kind and compassionate and truly spends time listening. I have found her to be very cautious and thorough in diagnosing my issues and with subsequent treatment. I am a healthcare consultant and would highly recommend Dr. Kalisz to anyone.
