I was recommended to see Dr Witlin by my eye doctor. The only procedure Dr Witlin recommended was expensive laser for my cataracts which Medicare does not cover. He insisted that it was the only procedure he would do. Didn't like his attitude and was not willing to pay $2000 per eye, Dont go there unless you have money to burn. Ripoff practice.

Dr. Witlin was recommended to me by my eye doctor. He spoke very highly of him and I respected his opinion. Was that the worst mistake I ever made! I went to his office for a consultation and they hit me up for a fee to do a Refraction test that was not covered by my insurance . Then I was escorted into the exam room where the doctor rushed through an explanation of all the options for the surgery and when I asked him to explain a few things tthat I didn't understand, he threw up his hands and said "why don't you just take the cheapest option and leave it at that" and walks out of the room in a huff. I don't need to tell you that I bypassed the reception desk on the way out and never went back. I'm happy to say that I found another surgeon who treated me with respect and am enjoying 20/20 v ision in both eyes.

Please very careful using Dr Witlin on lakehurst rd toms river nj. Took my Uncle to him for a simple cataract surgery. 3 years later his eye is so damaged from the infection that he had gotten during the surgery which had to be treated at Wills Eye Hospital as a Mrsa case special drops every hour and injection into the eye, he stayed for five days. When things were going bad after surgery, the doctor refused to see us, said it wasnt anything from the surgery. My Uncle it blind in one eye, and that was his good eye, is in pain everyday with the eye. so beware.

Absolutely horrible experience I had with Dr. Witlin. I went to see him with problem I am having after he operated on my eye, he practically through me out of his office, he doesn’t want to believe that he did a terrible job. I am wondering any authority that I can complain except suing him.
Do yourself a favor and find someone else.

Dr. Witlin is one of the best doctors in NJ. He had performed cataract surgery on my husband in 2011 and I have had surgery with Dr. Witlin late last year in 2013. His office staff is very friendly and Dr. Wiltins surgery was a success. I WOULD highly RECOMMEND this doctor to anyone suffering with cataracts.

dr. witlin and his staff were wonderful, i had to bring my grandmother in to see him for cataract surgery, not only did the dr. take the time to go over the options she had in terms of all the different lens that were available but also made a nervous n scared 89 yr old woman feel both comfortable with her decision and relaxed when it came down to surgery day. following her surgery dr. witlin and his staff were great...my grandmother loves her restored vision and is now back to playing bingo and knitting blankets for her grandchildren...thank you to the witlin center you gave a wonderful little lady the gift of sight

This Dr. has the worst bedside manner I have ever seen, and is actually rude and nasty. I came in for cataract surgery, expressed that I was a bit nervous, and his idea of making me feel calmer, was nastily telling me to go home and think about it, and when I was ready, to make another appt, because he didn't want to do it that day anymore, and left me sitting in his office alone. I should not have stayed, but I did to get it over with. Everyone was lined up in an assembly line on stretchers in one room, after getting your IV. Very cold and impersonal. ps Don't expect to see "him" for follow up visits, because after surgery, he is done with you! Also, I asked for the newest lens to avoid reading glasses, was told they were not perfected yet, only to find out that they are great from many, many people! I trusted him? Big mistake!!! Rude, mean and dishonest...period. ps My vision is horrible, and unable to read or see at night while driving :(
