My bunion surgery was a total success. I had put it off way too long. Dr Weiss is the Best . I feel RVA is lucky to have such a surgeon and his amazing staff. Barbara and Rachel answered all my questions over and over again. My appointments were never rushed. I will refer Dr Weiss to all my friends and family. 5 stars to Dr Weiss!!

Awful office staff wait time 2 hrs, no apology, in fact I was told by office manager that wait times are generally at least an hour to see doctor

Dr. David T. Weiss' response
We are very sorry that you had a bad experience. Typically, new patient appointments take longer and have longer wait times due to new patient paperwork and having to input medical history and insurance information. That is why we ask patients to fill out the forms through our portal prior to their appointment, or to come in early to complete them. Unfortunately, you did not respond to our message about the portal, and you arrived late for your appointment. We were ready to take you back 40 minutes after your appointment time, and 30 minutes after your arrival time. Furthermore, your son was also a new patient scheduled at the same time, so that results in extra paperwork and extra data input. You were both going to be seen within the hour! As far as waiting 6 weeks for an appointment, Dr. Weiss is a highly recommended specialist- we do our best to accommodate everyone who needs to be seen, especially our very sick patients. We do hope you are able to get the care you need for your foot issues.

I am so thankful for Dr. Weiss. I have been struggling with foot pain for quite a while due to a cluster of bone spurs that were located on the top of my foot. I was so comfortable about having the procedure after meeting with him. Everything went smoothly and I knew what to expect during every phase of my treatment. I have never experienced such an efficient practice. They schedule appointments correctly so you never have to wait to see the doctor. Today I was released as a patient. I am free of foot pain and can finally wear normal shoes. Thank you Dr. Weiss. You are the best.

I saw Dr. Weiss a couple of times last month for my plantar fascitis. I'm so very happy I found him. I got better without any surgery and I'm back running. Yay!

I suspect Dr. Weiss is competent, but I cannot say the same for his staff. They were extremely rude and seemed to go out of their way to be unhelpful. Having seen other similar reviews, and especially considering that I attempted to politely discuss with Dr. Weiss the way the front office staff treated me - I suspect that their behavior is approved of or supported by Dr. Weiss. And with that in mind, I suspect their approach to billing and insurance support is the same - which is NOT GOOD. Unless you absolutely have to see him and only him, I suggest you find another podiatrist.

It's unfortunate I am leaving such a bad review when I actually liked the doctor. I question his billing practices - charging me $255 on top of the $110 office fee for what amounted to taking off a bit of my toenail with clippers. I even talked to the billing office twice, once after doing my own research where I found out they charged for services they didn't provide - draining an abscess. There was no abscess, there was no scalpel, both of which need to be there for it to be draining an abscess. They refuse to change the charges to nail debridement, which I also found out that's what the work they actually provided is called. Sketchy way to do business. Extremely sketchy.

He is the best. He treats you as a human!! I saw him right after he finished college, felt I could be treated better by another doctor. Then he came in and assisted with my surgery to learn.

Best doctor and surgery experience I've ever had. Dr. Weiss and his staff are kind, professional, knowledgeable, and unbelievably efficient. They represent everything a doctor's office experience SHOULD be. I would recommend Dr. Weiss to anyone and everyone. You may have to wait up to 2 months to get on the surgery calendar, but it's worth it (although, all the office visits are quick and easy to get in). If every doctor experience I had could be like it is with Dr. Weiss and his staff, I would never mind going to the doctor.
