Dr. Smith put a spinal cord stimulator in January 2019. I told him I was having numbing and tingling down my right arm and extra pain weeks after the surgery. I moved to Texas and went to UT Southwestern to a neurosurgeon there. He told me after a myelogram that I could have been paralyzed because the stimulator was put in wrong. Thankfully this new neurosurgeon was able to get the stimulator out without paralyzing me. I was told I should have been paralyzed from the neck down because of the stimulator surgery that Dr. Smith did.

Dr Smith ruined my life when his surgery caused more pain than I was in before the surgery his answer was to say " I don't know why you are in pain , I can't help you" I had a cervical spine surgery where they cut the front of your neck resulting in swelling and severe throat pain after surgery the nurse gave me a sandwich and a bag of potato chips for dinner . He is known by other local doctors as giving you the " Terry Smith special"

Lumbar fusion performed 4/05/18. I almost died..I was overmedicated by nursing staff...they did not keep record of whom gave me what medication. I hallucinated for days, my kidneys shut down...I was in something like a coma for 5 days. if it were not for my daughter...I would not have survived. She reported.Dr Smith to Garden Park Administrators/hospitalist....Dr smith was not a happy camper....My 3 day surgery turned into a 10 day nightmare. Dr Smith would not discharge me, talk to me, send me home with instruction, nothing. Please check him out before you go to him. I'm not sure if.its a white/black thing or if he just hates people In general.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Terry C. Smith for his expertise in the brilliant success of my neck surgery on December 11, 2017. Before my surgery, I had suffered from stiffness, pain, and had a limited range of motion on both sides of the neck. I have recovered from my surgery and I am able to do the things I was unable to perform before.
In the past, Dr. Smith also saved my mother’s life from a brain tumor and a severe head trauma from a devastating fall at age 73. I do not know of many people who can say that they survived three brain surgeries because many do not survive just one. However, my mother is a living testament to Dr. Smith’s superior surgical skills and to the quality of care she received under him.
Finally, in the immediate future of 2018, my husband will be undergoing major back surgery. I am not worried because like myself and my mother, I am very confident that Dr. Smith will uphold and extend to him the same high standard of surgical and medical care. Dr. Terry C. Smith, is in my opinion, a highly valuable professional neurosurgeon and an asset to our community.

My wife has been Dr. Smith’s patient for 15 years. She trust him implicitly and referred me to be under his care. Dr. Smith did an outstanding job on my November, 2017, lumbar fusion. Surgery went great. I was discharged from the hospital in two days as planned. I am now free of the radiating right hip and lower leg pain that plagued me prior to surgery. I have full confidence in Dr. Smith and trust my care to his 30 years of expertise and quality patient care .I highly recommend Dr. Smith!
