Dr Barr is a kind and receptive MD, but Assistant Laura is rude, unprofessional and does not return phone calls in a timely manner. Very difficult to get into MD if you have a flare-up or problem.

Dr. Barr has been my rheumatologist for several years and I have no alternatives for a different doctor. I have a diagnosed and confirmed autoimmune disease with neurological involvement. I absolutely despise her as a doctor and have consistently left her office or our telephone meetings feeling both dismissed and mocked. She does not take my concerns seriously, has actually laughed when I expressed concern, and has refused to explore or acknowledge my experiences--which I then have to repeat at every visit. I have had this disease for decades and she is by far one of the worst doctors I have ever had to deal with. I do not recommend her at all.

Dr. Barr is above average rheumatologist. She knows what she is doing for the most part. Her admin assistant, Laura another story. Laura is a terrible admin assistant... She is rude and unprofessional on the phone. I had a lump on my leg and when I had my appointment with Dr. Barr, I showed the lump to her and she said, it needs to come off in case it's cancer. She said, she was going to send a referral to my dermatologist since I haven't seen him in a few years. She said to call the office in 2 weeks to remind her if I haven't heard from my dermatologist. Three weeks has passed, so I called the office to remind her. Her admin assistant, Laura was very rude and snapped at me on the phone. Laura said, "Dr. Barr is too busy and has no time to deal with a lump and that's not her job to send referrals to a dermatologist." "Go find a family doctor and tell the family doctor to send the referral." Wow!! How unprofessional, disrespectful, rude and no customer service!! It takes over a year to get Laura to call you back to book an appointment unless you can get an appointment before you leave the office. I was supposed to have an appointment in June 2020 and was told by Dr. Barr that Laura was going to call me no later than February 2020. It almost February 2021 (almost 14 months has passed) and Laura still hasn't called me back to book my June 2020 appointment. Wow!! I am so irritated, appalled and disgusted with Dr. Barr's admin assistant. Laura shouldn't be in charge of Dr. Barr's schedule or dealing with patients on the phone.

Dr. Susan Barr is a wonderful rheumatologist and I feel extremely lucky to have been referred to her. She listened to all of my issues, did a thorough examination, had me in for an immediate ultrasound which convinced me (and this is no easy task given that I am averse to taking medication at the best of times) to increase my medication and she even gave me feedback on an issue that was not completely related to RA. She is really an awesome Dr.!

Dr Barr is a caring and knowledgeable specialist. I have been her patient for 17 years and would not hesitate to recommend her to others.

I would not recommend Dr. Barr to treat your illness. Staff is awesome. I'm going to the U.S.A. to see a rheumatologist who agrees she has not managed my Lupus well at all. I've also been hospitalized, and three local E.R. Doctors have told me that she is not managing my Lupus. One Doctor even said he would call her office to have me re assessed, and I've had no call back. I never do.....

I would highly recommend Dr. Barr. She's very professional, knowledgeable and understanding. She is thorough, spends time with you. Her staff are all very professional, very kind. I've never had to wait long to see her. Recently, Dr. Barr agreed to see me, when she had the day booked off. Her secretary Laura is very helpful, professional and easy to talk to. I'm grateful for all of them.

I have been asked to see Dr. Susan Barr after I was admitted to Foothills ER. I had my both knees and feet swollen due to gout. We were led both my wife and I to a room at her clinic by a lady and were kept waiting for over two hours without being told of the reason. Finally, a Trainee-Doctor came to see me without any apology or the reason for keeping us so long. After examining me, he began taking the fluid out of my left knee when Dr. Barr came in to assist. After all was done, she asked to call her after 45 days to see her. I called three times and left three messages on her voice-mail. My calls were never returned. Arrogance...yes. Impoliteness...yes. Disrespect...yes. Unethical behaviour...yes. I have had three flares of swollen left knee and foot but I never want to see her again. Patients to her are numbers not human beings. Specialists are supposed to offer the ultimate in health care as expected, but unfortunately, that is not the case.
