I am writing this review as i wait with my mother in the waiting room to check her in before her surgery...
But of course she’s not able to get her surgery because the office staff has made ANOTHER huge mistake and can’t find her anywhere in the schedule. This has happened multiple times about mix up in appointment scheduling!
His office staff absolutely sucks! Michaela has made a bunch of errors and i don’t know why she is still working there. She is completely incompetent
THIS IS THE WORST TREATMENT MY MOM HAS EVER HAD.

Horrible disabling rotator cuff repair & post op infection. Went to a competent upper extremity ortho that had to operate on me 4 times to fix his botched surgery, including a total shoulder joint replacement. He actually cut my Deltoid Muscle during this botched. He is a Work Comp Dr. & seemed more interested in sending me back to work than refering me to a shoulder specialist & Infectous Disease Dr. He is arrogant, dangerous & wreckless. He didn't even order pre op lab work, MRI, EKG, etc before or after my complications. He actually called me @ home on a weekend attempting to lure me back for surgery by offering more LorTabs. This is one evil man. No telling how many people he has hurt or worse. Stay away from this guy. 2012. The Statute of Limitations saved his career & Medical License. I was placed on permanent disability after his failed shoulder surgery on me. 57 years old & trying to survive on disability. Workmans Comp should be investigated & reformed. I'm just glad I had a competent Attorney or I would have died in the end thanks to this quack. He will pay in the next life. I am now a medically, disabled former Healthcare provider with 30+ years of experience & continuous full time employment.

Thanks to Dr Lurate my uncle no longer talks to me. After tearing my ACL, the ER doc referred me to Dr Lurate. She said he had operated on several of her friends and family and highly recommended him. When my uncle found out he FLIPPED out saying he worked for the insurance company and wouldn't treat his back under workercomp and because of that his back was screwed up and couldn't work. As it turns out, my acl tear was at work and I was sent to Dr Lurate through workerscomp. Knowing my uncle had already had years of back pain, his alternative lifestyle, motorcycle wrecks, and reasons he had problems holding a job I decided to see Dr Lurate anyway. ACL surgery went great and I'm back SURFING as good as ever! But guess who refuses to talk to me?

I just want to set the record straight. I worked at the office. I did not find out that Dr Lurate’s wife was a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader until it was mentioned by a coworker after I had worked there about a year. He would NEVER bring it up. If anything he always seemed very embarrassed by it. The patient making that comment is not being fair, doesn't know Dr Lurate and sounds like hasn't talked to him since 2006! I’ve seen a lot of doctors over the years and there is not any that I would trust more than Dr Lurate and Dr Marshall. My heart’s out to those still in the medical field. Glad I left.

I am in the medical field and was scheduled for hip replacment "king" of joint replacements in Pensacola. A few of my coworkers suggested I get a 2nd opinion from Dr Lurate since I was so young and because I could not afford to miss much work. I was told that Dr Lurate had taught some courses on minimally invasive hip replacement. When he examined me he had a concerned look on his face. When he came back after looking at the xrays, he was even more concerned. He said I needed an MRI of my back! I thought he was nuts. However, he showed me my xrays and example xrays of bad hips needing hip replacement. He showed me hip replacment xrays with screws which I already knew about. Screws are often used to secure the cup of a hip replacement. so for the patient that gave him the bad rating about the scr-ew, there is NO WAY he would not have explained that to her. The strange thing about my case is that after talking me into the MRI, it turns out I had a slipped disc at L3-L4. Dr Lurate took it out and i haven't had any hip pain since!

Dr. Barry Lurate did my surgery back in 2006, for some reason after the surgery, I found out that he placed a stainless steel scr-ew into the upper wall of the hip. I ask why never told me. Did he fracture my bone. I also called to ask about a recall on the total hip part that he used. Staff was not helpful, and said if their was any recalls we would call have called you! They never called me to said yes or no on the hip recall. I also did not like the fact that instead of Dr. Lurate talking to me concerning my hip, he kept speaking about his wife, and how she use to be a Dallas Cowboy Cheer leader.... I really don't care, we are talking about my hip not your wife. He needs to focus on his patients when they are in the office.

Dr. Lurate has done cervical disk surgery on me and surgery on both of my shoulders. I found him to be concerned and compassionate. He discussed my problems, explained the surgery, and checked on me personally after each surgery. He is my “go to” orthopedic due to my successful surgeries and his care.

This doctor is in the work comp insurance pocket. He is arrogant and dismissive. He told me I was messed up and told work comp I had no restrictions. What a quack!
