I wish I didn’t have to write this review. I wish it had not come to this but I want to be heard. My primary doctor first referred me to Dr. Bruce due to a few issues I was having that weren’t going away. I made my first appointment for Monday November 5th, driving 30 min across town and getting out of work to sit in the waiting room for over 1.5 hours while hearing other patients were having to wait even longer. Once in the patient room the nurse did not make me feel comfortable when she explained how awkward it all was that she was required to stand there while I undressed and Dr. Bruce was in the room (with me undressed). Furthermore, he looks me over, leaves the room, and comes back to tell me he’ll perform a minor surgery on me next visit. He told me this was no big deal and I shouldn’t bother going to the hospital for the procedure. Well, with little information I set up my appointment for this procedure Tuesday December 4th to once again drive 30 min across town and leave work early. I happened to read up on the procedure beforehand to learn it could cause quite a bit of pain and follow-up so I called the office to see if there was anything I should know prior to my appointment (as this was not explained in my previous appt). The nurse goes on to tell me that it is advised I stay home from work for a few days and avoid physical activity for a couple weeks. I go on to learn it is not as “minor” as he led me to believe and that I’ll need to prepare by taking off work and altering my plans for the next couple weeks. Keep in mind, I work full-time, have a toddler, have a horse I’m training on, and very important deadlines for work that I can’t miss. However, I understand my health is important so I spent the next couple hours before my meeting altering my schedule, shifting my projects, cancelling my training sessions, and getting help with my son. Then comes time for my appointment where I will admit I was 7-8 minutes late due to bad rush hour traffic coming from across town. I walk in the door to inform the receptionist I have arrived. She tells me the doctor has left already, just like that. I told her “but I have an appointment” and she goes on to say “the doctor had to run, he had an emergency but we can reschedule you”, as if it wasn’t a big deal. I told her I would not like to reschedule as this has already affected my schedule too much. I was very upset and wanted an explanation so I called the office a few minutes later and asked how that all happened as I was only a few minutes late and even if he really did have an emergency I never received a curiosity call that was the case. Once again the receptionist acted as if it wasn’t a big deal and told me it was my own fault as I was late and need to reschedule. Mind you I was only 7-8 minutes late for the same doctor that made me wait over 1.5 hours my first visit. I understand the doctor’s time is important but so are the patient’s.

Dr Graham was my 2nd opinion and from the start he was very detailed about my condition. We left with diagrams of what was wrong, l'm so HAPPY that we found Dr Graham. Wish l had him first then l would have never had the first surgery. Thank you so much and God Bless you.

I recently had surgery for a Rectal Prolapse. I highly recommend Dr Bruce Graham. He reminded me of a Dr. Marcus Welby. I would also highly recommend Shawnee Mission Medical Center.

World class surgeon. I had stage 3 rectal cancer surgery in 2008. No doubt here today because of his expertise and care. Staff was very caring as well. Highly recommend!

Staff is always there to help well above and beyond. Dr Graham gave me hope when I didn't have any. Continued care even after my surgery.. while in the hospital he shows up every day I felt very involved he knows what he is doing.

Arrogant, does not cooperate or listen to other doctors. Refused to stop IV on me when other doctors recommended to stop. Filled my lungs with fluid and wanted to continue to do so. Gave me pneumonia. Did not inform me about my ileostomy and what it entailed, just said it's reversable, it's temporary...yeah, right. Had to remove myself from the hospital before he caused any further damage to my lungs.

Dr. Graham is not a nice man. He is the least compassionate doctor I have ever encountered and he treats his nurses like garbage when they are the ones who really helped me. He spends two minutes with me and doesn't let me have a say in my care at all. He might be a good surgeon but he has zero people skills. Not worth it

I had stage 3 rectal cancer. It's been three years since he operated on me and I have no
cancer. He was also able to keep me from having a permanent colostomy bag as my cancer was in a bad spot. He said he would do everything he could to keep me from having it permanently. I had the bag for six months and then he reversed it. I have since spoken to others with my same condition that got permanent colostomy's by other surgeon's. I don't think you can find a better doctor when it comes to dealing with colon/rectal cancers.
Thank you Dr. Graham!

Dr Graham is an extremely great doctor who helped me tremendously. I'm so happy I had surgery and more happy that I had the great results thanks to him. My only complaint is that's he's so great and popular that punctuality is where he lacks. But, he's worth the wait.
