I recently had a prostate biopsy performed by Dr Haber at the Northside Decatur Urology Surgery Center. I was really troubled by these handful of negative online reviews. My spouse, an RN, began asking her colleagues if anyone knew more about Dr Haber’s reputation. All the inputs from her colleagues were glowing. She also discovered that one of her Med Techs had previously worked for Dr Haber. She had only nice things to say and was shocked to hear that Dr Haber had any negative ratings. My procedure was perfectly smooth. The entire staff was prepared, helpful, professional, and comforting. Dr Haber met with me before the procedure. I did not have many questions, so the meeting was brief. However, Dr Haber’s bedside manner was patient and caring. I’m sure he would have talked as much as I needed. Finally, I have had very minor discomfort after the biopsy (a couple of Tylenol did the job) which speaks to his gentle and expert skills. I’m very pleased with Dr Haber and his whole operation. Take these other negative comments with a grain of salt. And remember, that medical providers are at a huge disadvantage in this these social media attacks. They have to protect the privacy of all their patients (including those writing negative reviews). They can’t add a response about how unhealthy, difficult, immature, or non-compliant a complaining patient was.

3 words to describe this Dr.

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE.

His last words to me after 3 months of Cipro and a scope and much suffering, was “ So, I misdiagnosed you.”

Dr Haber not very considerate Very bad “communication skills”...takes easy way for him. Little consideration for your concerns. Will not use him again. Almost died when he assigned a substitute Dr in this group to perform a routine procedure to break-up kidney stone. Lost a lot of blood and was admitted through Emergency Room for 3 days to remediate procedural error. Don’t see HABER!!!!

Did surgery on my dad and afterwards couldn't be bothered to talk to my mother about anything. He was more concerned about what was on his phone and getting out of the hospital. The biopsy he took was "lost". Which means we didn't find out about the cancer until 2 weeks later when another doctor went back in. If you want a doctor who actually cares, don't see Haber.

The office is run like a zoo. Nobody knows anything. Had a cystoscopy there and asked aide to let the lidocaine take effect for a few minutes. She did not tell him and he came in and just rammed the rod up my urethra (I have strictures) and I almost jumped off the table. He moved it around slightly and I screamed again, so he just pulled it out and said it was o.k. Prior to the procedure, the pad on the procedure table fell on the floor and the aide picked it up (it was black by then) and put it back on the table. I had to ask her for a new one. After the procedure, when he told me it was "o.k." I asked him why I had blood in my urine??? He replied: "I don't know," and left the room. No follow-up, no diagnosis, no treatment. Now, I have to go to a new urologist, the one I used before, 100 mile trip, to get a professional opinion. Go figure.

I didn't choose to see Dr Haber but when I had my first kidney stone, he had the first availability in that office. He spent just a couple minutes with me and said my stone was small and shouldn't cause pain (it was, and bleeding!) and to let it pass naturally and try to catch it. That's it. I had a lot of pain for many days afte that, and it changed for the worse. I was never offered pain meds. Finally they did another scan and the stone was now stuck and had to be removed with surgery, and he put a stent in for a week afterwards that was quite painful. Still no pain medication, which is very different from the experiences of some friends and co workers at different doctors. The stone was very rough and spiky and larger than indicated on the CT scan. It honestly felt like this doctor just didn't care, he certainly was quite cold. Thankfully this is the worst experience I've ever had, but it's really sad to see there are so many others on here with similar experiences, going back several years. I wouldn't expect much change.

I was an established patient when I discovered I had kidney stones. I went to my appointment and gave a urine specimen. I tested it with my own strips before we even left the house and it showed that I had a lot of blood in my urine. Dr Haber came in and said my CT scan showed that I had stones but that they were so small that they would pass on their own and they shouldn't be causing me any pain. He wouldn't give me anything for pain. I think that's an abuse of authority. #1- if men had babies or constant kidney stones, there would be gum ball machines full of pain meds in the lobby of every building. #2- if you don't like being a doctor, quit or take up another specialty. Please don't take it out on your patients. #3- don't lie about test results. People can and do monitor their own health, with accurate products, they buy on the internet. And you can buy ANYTHING on the internet. #4- don't be a jerk. You WILL be reviewed. So, all in all, save your sanity, your kidneys, your ureters and your bladder. Find a doctor who cares. It's not this one.

Worst experience at a doctor I have ever had!! I was referred to him due to the amount of kidney stones I had been producing. I will say it was very easy to get an appointment that was the only good thing. I ran all over town to get records of CT scans and hospital visits. I was completely prepared for the appointment. He came in said, "so you have stones? When was the last one?" I told him about my recent hospital visit a few days ago an that the pain still has not gone away. He said we will get you set up with a CT scan. Give me just a second and I'll be right back. He never came back. His nurse returned and said they will contact you within a week for a CT scan and he called in an antibiotic. After the CT scan you will contact us for a follow up. I said what about the pain I'm currently in and the stones I haven't passed. She said sorry this is how we do it. His bedside manner was horrible, he spent all of 2 minutes with me and never even examined me. He asked me 2 questions and said he would return and never came back. I was absolutely appalled. I am 24 days away from being married, in a whole lot of pain, and continued kidney stones. He did nothing for me. I will make sure everyone knows how horrible he really was. No sympathy, no knowledge, nothing!!!
