He might be the best doctor out there but you'll never know it because the staff will not let you talk to him.

I have been seeing Dr. Smolar for 15 years and he has always been courteous and worked with me to find the most effective medication for me. He is friendly and spends as much time with me as I need. He has helped me tremendously in dealing with a very painful condition.

Terrible doctor! He spent less than 10 minutes during my visit at St. Margaret hospital. He didn't listen to my concerns. He never gave me an answer to the symptoms and pain I was having. What kind of neurologist is this doctor? He was more concern to send me for an MRI. After spending $600 of my pocket on the MRI he couldn't give me an answer for my pain. I went for a second opinion and they were able to tell me right away by the symptoms I was having. The MRI wasn't a necessary test and was totally a waste. Avoid this doctor and the staff. They never called me back to go over the results. I had to wait almost 3 weeks to reach the doctor and took like 3 phone calls to his nurse.

My visit with Dr. Smolar was terrible. He seemed preoccupied and uninterested in my test results that included and MRI and EMG abnormalities. At the end of the visit he got up and walked out telling me that something (he mumbled, so I didn't know what it was) would be ready for me at the front desk. I didn't even know the visit was over. He hadn't asked any questions that pertained to the tests and he kept saying, "I'm unimpressed" without explaining what he meant. I felt discriminated against because of my current status of SSD. I don't WANT a bad diagnosis, but I would like a doctor to be kind, respectful and ask pertinent questions.

Christi, the office MANAGER, was extremely rude with me, the worst customer service I ever had!!! I can not believe Christi is a MANAGER and deals with Sick patients!!! She even went as far as being completely dishonest with Dr. Smolar about my conversation with her, she left out that she was yelling at me and then telling me how they have other patients they need to take care of and hung up the phone!!! I really feel for the patients for Dr. Smolar, Dr. Smolar is a fantastic doctor but he believes the lies Christi tells him about a patient, she DOES NOT tell the doctor how she talks to patients as if we do not have ANY VALUE at all!!! To all of the other patients she did this to, you ARE worth getting the care that you need and deserve!!! I hope Dr. Smolar sees her true side very soon! She will really hurt someone if she continues to treat patients this way!!!

His new office staff refused to get an urgent message to him;argued with me about my script;hung up on me twice;accusd me of having a wrong birthdate;made small talk with co-worker while I was trying to make appt; sent me a letter firing me as a patient because I wasn't nice to the staff on the phone;then called to confirm appt by robo call; rudely told me off in front of other patients when I showed up for the appt; refused to let me talk to the doctor. I wrote a personal letter to Dr. Smolar about how I was treated and he didn't respond.
