I had an umbilical hernia repair back in 2019. I have had several referrals sent to his office since due to having some type of (stitch) or something (SHARP) trying to push it's way threw the skin. I have seen 5 different doctors about it and nobody will take it out or even open it to see what it is because no one knows what it may or may not be attached to. I highly recommend finding a different doctor if you have a hernia that needs repair!

He performed emergency surgery following a post surgical misdiagnosis by another surgeon. He saved my life, I will always be grateful. I feel extremely fortunate he was my emergency surgeon. It was a very lucky day for me.

A professional/gentleman of the highest calibre , Cheerful, respectful, polite, dedicated and kind.
Wants to get on with the job in an effective manner by putting you at ease from day one. Wealth of experience with less talk and more concentration on the job at hand. One can count lucky to get him as your surgeon! After my surgery in 2007 it still looks perfect. I had hernia done on my left on the 17th of December 2021 and for a moment thought he had forgot to do my surgery since there was no pain at all and never took pain medication. After 10 days I'm in great shape. Dr. Mulloy is a gifted surgeon and is blessed. Very caring and loving person.
I'll be making a big mistake if I don't say something about Jessie ( Dr. Mulloy's assistant) who makes life easy for the surgeon. She's a real live wire with loads of experience and very kind hearted, polite and will go out of her way to answer all your questions. ( I have no words to thank her ) Unfortunately the nurses at SHC has a lot to learn from this team may be due to stress and long hours and reasons best known to them. Little they realize that the patients depend on them when they come to the hospital and should be kind and polite rather than being rude/stern and talking in an indiscreet manner. ( not at all helpful ) Michele was helpful after surgery. Medical student Ethan was very professional. The nurses who helped me to change initially were also helpful.
Thank you Dr. Mulloy and Jessie once again!

I came back from an emergency surgery in Tampa Bay and Dr. Mulloy saw me to take my drains out that were supposed to be out a month beforehand but no Drs at Peter Lougheed would help me. Thank you for being so awesome!

The main thing you need to know about Dr. Mulloy is his experience. He has been doing hernia surgeries since the 90's, and currently does about 300 per year. He is experienced, and a very good surgeon.
He did my hernia less than a week ago, and other than a down day or two of being tired while my body recovered, I am back up and running and back at work. I had a bit of minor discomfort, but I did not need any painkillers once I was discharged, and I have a low pain tolerance level.
To the more minor stuff - an intern did most of the initial exam, and Dr. Mulloy didn't really look at my hernia. He did answer my questions to my satisfaction, and is pleasant and friendly to deal with. I did find that the follow-up from Jessie (his assistant) wasn't always great, but she was nice and helpful when I did talk to her.
Overall, I would highly recommend Dr. Mulloy for his skill as a surgeon, and the results.

I have been dealing with hernias for pretty much my whole life, was in at the high river hospital in extreme pain. He was the doc on call. He came in spoke to me very nicely and I was in for surgery the next day. After surgery he came and explained what he had done. I was very impressed. That was back in 2016. A while later I noticed a huge lump in my tummy. The just would not go away. I talked to my family doc and back to Malloy. Long story short. I went in ( no ultrasound) had a new hole and some other things repaired. And after surgery I never seen him. Took me almost a month to figure out what was actually done to me. Had no one talk to me after. I had to request the info. But all in all great guy and sergon. All I feel he needs to improve on is fallow up. Surgery is scary a fallow up is key !!!

First off, he was running late, second off, I was his first patient on a Friday afternoon. I was told my surgery would be a certain number of lapriscopic holes, and the details etc by multiple surgeons (I had another surgery booked, needed emergency surgery, saw resident, attending and than Malloy).

Long story short, 1 too many holes later decorating my abdomen like a Christmas tree, the problem is somewhat solved... He never did rounds, I was sent home 1hr after being out of surgery in pain and exhausted with a useless script. Nursing staff in short stay at shc are THE WORST. the aide's were good and helpful however...

This doctor is terrible....

Surgery was June 2018.
