Please be aware.....Do not go to this doctor! I came to him with a lump in my throat so scared out of my mind, he came in the office and said its a thyroid mass go get blood work and we will do surgery. After surgery I was suprised to see huge staples across my neck! Made me come back to multiple appts to have him remove a few at a time with of course having to pay everytime. Finally at the last appt he said its cancer. I was crying and he just said "it will be fine, I got the mass out and we will just watch it with blood work in a couple of months." Thankfully I had just got a job for a doctor and he was appalled by this. I went to someone else and he was disgusted from the staples to leaving a throid that after another surgery was full of cancer inside of my body! He was so mean and unfriendly, even when I was in tears hearing the word cancer. He even charged me to come in to his office to get thyroid hormone blood results that were normal. **The staff is the biggest joke of all!

Worst surgery EVER! Within 3 minutes he insisted I need a tonsillectomy and we can do it tomorrow! He burned my uvula really bad (swelled to 3in long and 1 in wide) which made me gag everytime I coughed, swallowed or talked.I aspirated a little of everything I drank. Also burned my tounge in 2 places. Gave a useless pain med, didn't own up to mistakes..said it was normal!Didn't talk to me or husband after surgery.Surgery center was more of a chop-shop,rude nurses(tried to insert IV w/o gloves!)Told me it was ok to fly 2 days after surg, had to get emergency surgery to stop arterial bleed while on vacation. To top it all off, now that the scabs are gone, I can see that he only took part of one tonsil and took way too much on the other side...is this guy blind? He likes to see people in pain, called me a"Pu$$y"if I were to have pain 2 days later! This guy should have his license revoked!I feel foolish for having him mess up my life for a month!Reporting him asap! BEWARE,find someone else!

He saw me three minutes and told that I had Tonsillitis Chronic; he told me that I needed to do surgery. I am happy that I didn't agree because I got second opinion and it was tottaly different. Don't spend your time and money.

Go see someone else!! He was ready to surgery on my ear when I decided to get a 2nd opinion. The 2nd Dr. thought surgery wasn't necessary & could be treated w/antibiotics & steroids first. Berkowitz uses this metal disk on his forehead from the 60's rather than new technology.

After experiencing very bleeding post surgery Dr. Berkowitz totally dismissed me for two weeks. I had to go to the emergency room for a second surgery after I was dismissed from his office. DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR. DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR. I almost bleed to death.

Suggested 2 different surgeries within 3 minutes of seeing me. Older gentleman, with a large hearing aid and one of those bands around his head with the large metal disc thing like you see in old photographs. The office did not feel very private or professional. He did not ask me any questions just rambled on until I felt the urge to flee. When asked what noninvasive things I might try he said there was nothing. Within 5 minutes I knew I wanted a second opinion.

Dr. Berkowitz has terrible bedside manner. He was late for surgery, did not speak to me or my family and was rude at the surgical followup visit. He did not answer my questions or make any attempt to make me feel at ease. I was in a lot of pain after the surgery and he simply said that I shouldn't be in pain instead of explaining how I might ease the pain. I would not recommend this doc to anyone.
