Horrible experience, I'm afraid for all the people I saw at his office

3 surgeries, all 3 times it was a different experience. 1st time took twice as long as 2nd & 3rd time, when I woke up my heart was racing out of chest. 2nd time they didn't wait til the antithetic was kicked in yeah... OUCH! Still have vivid thoughts of that pain. 3rd time went okay, after I complained about 1st two times... Maybe if I had regular insurance not workers comp.. I might have received better treatment? … or is this commonplace... Appointments are not scheduled well, and I got to talk to the doc for a whole of 5 mins. each visit... Despited the pain and mistakes my back is feeling beter than before for that reason alone i gave him a 3 on helpfullness but i wonder if i had a different doctor if i would have been a faster and better recovery. Terrible bedside manor, doesnt seem to like to talk to his patients as much as his tape recorder. Dont believe me if you want go see him for yourself and goodluck... nice bais review of 5,5,5,5 above person probably works for this guy.

Dr Malek is polite and knowledgeable but wait times are up for grabs. My consultation appt at his office was on time and he went into detail on my problem and options. I've had 2 procedures at his surgery center. I was brought to the prep area prompty, but waited in bed for 1hr before the 10min procedure. My 2nd trip was a different story. I sat in the wait area for 1hr, then laid in bed for 4hrs waiting to have the procedure done. No food or meds since the night before so I was in a lot of pain waiting. I needed a driver so she also had to wait. I only saw him in the op room. Some before/after talk would've been nice. Appt was at 9am, wasn't out til 330pm. I recently saw another Dr who performs a newer procedure right in his office. Appt was at 10am and I(ME)was driving home by 11am. No chauffeur needed. I was told Dr Malek used old school thought and 25yr old technology. Nice Dr but be prepared to wait. Ill stick with the short wait with modern technology. No reason to sit 5+hrs

So for he a great doc. That person that said he is not a good coc is an idiot. He always on time. He was my second doc and was 200% more helpful than the first. He seems to know more than any other doc i've been to. He does everything in house instead of sending you off to ten other docs. Second best doc i've ever been to and i've been to a lot of them.

Dr. Malek has absolutely no bedside manner whatsover. The surgery went well but I have spoken to him for less than 15 minutes total. He is peristantly late for all appointments, never takes the time to answer questions. I would NEVER recommend him to anyone. It is an absolute disgrace to see that he was paid over 10,000 dollars for less than an hours worth of work total, including the surgery. I cannot understand how you can set an appointment up with 20 people for the same time slot. This is NOT an exaggeration, this is literally what has happened. He does not return calls nor does he offer any information that is relevant to recovery. I was discharged from the hospital without any information whatsoever. I had to fight with nurses to get me a walker to walk with. He refused to return the calls of nurses to provide discharge instructions. I strongly urge you to find another doctor. I wish I knew what I know now, I would never have hired him as a surgeon.
