Over the past 6 months I have been on a quest to find an ob/gyn that treats me like a person and not just a number. I don’t think what I am asking for is too much…simple things like calling me when my test results come back, calling before I get there when a doctor/nurse I was supposed to see was out sick, and spending more than 5 minutes with me when I have been waiting in your waiting room for over an hour. I tried various doctors in the Broward area and finally found Dr. Fahey which I really liked. Although the wait in her office was a bit longer than usual, her awesome bedside manner and get to the point attitude was very comforting to me. Unfortunately, I went to her Commercial office this week and had the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. I had an appointment for Tuesday to review the results of a mammogram I had done last week after finding a lump in my breast. Tell me note that I am only 32 years old and have a history of breast cancer in my family. Monday, I received a call saying the nurse I was schedule to see, Brenda, was out sick. Understandable, I realize these things happen. I am a speech pathologist myself and know how hard it can be to have to cancel on my patients. They rescheduled me for Thursday. When I arrived Thursday I was informed that Brenda was out sick again and would it be ok to see Dr. Reynald Pouliot. First off, I could see the annoyance in his face that he had to see me. He told me that the Brenda would be in later today if I would like to wait and see her. First of all, no I don’t want to wait hours to see a nurse that is home “sick.” Then he informed me that Dr. Fahey was in the Broward General office which I found funny because I tried to get an appointment with Dr. Fahey and was told she was booked till the end of June even to see a 32 year old to read mammogram results. Dr. Pouliot was very combative throughout our entire visit and extremely rude, but the worst thing of all was the comment he made to me before I stormed out of the room. My husband and I have also been trying to get pregnant for over a year. I wanted to figure out how to get further testing to figure out why some of my blood work came back with such high levels. His response to me was, “Well, have you seen a fertility doctor.” My response to him was, “Not yet, I want to figure out if a am truly ovulating and have PCOS before I start at the fertility center because none of that testing will be covered by my insurance through a fertility doctor.” I informed him that an initial visit with a fertility doctor is $350-$400 and since we are not rich, I would like to get as much paid for through my insurance as possible. His response to me was so unprofessional and rude that it has lead me to this extremely long review of his terrible bedside manner. He proceeded to ask me, “Well, how much is a baby worth to you?” Can you believe the nerve of this guy. Seriously ladies, do yourself a favor and avoid Dr. Pouliot at all cost.

He is truly the best obgyn you can find! He delivered my son 7/10/13 and now we are expecting again in August 2014! Wouldn't choose any other doctor! He really eases all your concerns and takes the time to listen. He is very good! Highly recommended!!

Helpful. He speaks French. Some people say that he is sometimes expedient but I can say he is efficient.

This month, I had gushing vaginal discharge and told MD. Without any exam, dismissed as normal. Next day, was in for a 3-hour glucose test. Dr. was filling in for Pouliot, and I told about the gushing. Extreme alarm, given full exam and immediate ultrasound. I was leaking amniotic fluid, baby in distress, could have been in labor. Had an appointment with Dr. Pouliot 8:15 a.m. 7/23. Dr. Pouliot arrived 45 minutes later in street clothes. I was first patient of day. I had questions about pregnancy. Dr. Pouliot interrrupted me, told me to listen to him, and gave me sheets of instructions. Dr. Pouliot snapped at me to "just read the sheets." I said, "well, since you're here and you're my doctor, I have some questions for you." Dr. Pouliot saucily replied "I'll just read it TO you, since you don't want to read these yourself. I have other patients and I don't have time to answer your questions. I'm running late." I am and my baby are a priority to me if not to him. I found a new OB!
