Totally ruined my life. I had a knee replacement, and I told them please be ever so gentle on the anesthesia and I woke up and I knew I had been totally overdosed by the anesthesiologist. I had warned them time and time again. And then I got thrown up to the fifth floor at cottage Hospital (I actually called and opted out because it was during Covid time but they said no come in) where it was not in Orthopedic floor and I was not moved for four days. I was throwing up but they needed to move my leg which they didn’t. I now cannot bend my knee. I’m in horrible pain and he ruined my life. Super pissed. Yeah and besides the jackhammering outside the window and the call button that didn’t work and the machines that kept going off because they were out of fluids. I have really nothing good to say about cottage Hospital or Dr. Z.

What an egoist. I know 6 people he worked on and over 50% feel that Zmolek screwed them over. I have the same opinion AND when I had questions/ complaints, he and COTTAGE/Sansum circled the wagons and refused to address them. Yea they care all right…. About $$$$ and reputation

Dr. Zmolek did my ACL repair, after 3 months, my ACL was torn again. I never got to play any sports or any stress exercises. I saw him afterI found that his surgery did not succeed and he refused to do the surgery for free, he want to go over my insurance again. He also suggest that I should find another doctor. PATHETIC service and treatment in the clinic. Nurses along with receptionist looks like they're always eating donuts.

Dr Zmolek is an amazing orthopedic surgeon. Following a total L hip replacement with revision & a total R hip replacement, I had a speedy recovery all three times. Dr Zmolek is very approachable & knowledgeable. I knew immediately all would be well. He also repaired both shoulders for my husband with successful results. I would recommend Dr Zmolek to anyone.

I can't say enough good things about Dr Zmolek! He was my surgeon for both total hip replacements, eleven years apart (2001 & 2012). He is an excellent surgeon and even though the recovery in 2001 was lengthy, I feel blessed to have had no infection and I was able to face two major surgeries with complete confidence in his skills. I live now in Citrus Heights CA and was recently told by my local orthopedic surgeon that my older hip replacement is in such good shape, it may last another 15 years. I would recommend Dr James Zmolek to anyone who needs a great surgeon and a kind, compassionate and professional man.

Meniscus trim/repair was the operation Dr Zmolek and his team performed. After three months I am still walking with a cane. Dr Z consulted with me only over the phone before the operation, and trying to get an appointment to see him in what I would consider a timely fashion since my p.t. has ended has been impossible. I expect, from his reputation, he is a great surgeon, but I have been disappointed with his pre- and post-operative interest.

Dr. Z did my knee replacement in 2008 and what a great job! NO INFECTION! I now walk pain free and can get anywhere I want. I have referred him to at least 5 other persons who have all had great out comes.

I had a torn rotator cuff. Many people told me I would be in pain for weeks, but after 2 days I felt no pain. He's a great surgeon, funny and a good listener.
