I brought my son to an after hours clinic and saw Dr. Malik. What bad luck. Based on my son's symptoms and history, I decided to take him in to make sure what he had was nothing more than a virus.I was made to feel like I wasted his time. He made me feel like an idiot for taking my son to the clinic and an idiot overall.I felt belittled, judged and dismissed. He went on about how many kids he saw the day before, all with the "same" viral infection. I was told how my son "would" react to an allergy, which was not what was happening, even after I told him how my son reacted in the past. I was told that it's normal for kids to get a rash after a fever breaks when I just finished telling him he's had no fevers. I left feeling so frustrated and dismissed.I will make sure to avoid his clinic in the future.

It totally sucks to know your in a position where it doesn't matter what a doctor does or doesn't do. I find it abuse to have to settle for a doctor who bares a minimum knowledge to everyday common problems of health among to days society. I need not have to prove my case with this so called doctor as | know from past appointments to be disheartening. Not only have I experienced failure but also heard of so many other similar appointments with Dr. Abdul Malik . When are we going to have a government that will take charge and control of the abuse in and around small communities like Stanley, Nb. I pray for a day of vengeance towards all abusers both great and small.

I left the office with the impression that I should not go back until I lose at least 10% of my body weight. He took one look at me and started talking about me reducing salt and getting on medication for my high blood pressure. I was rather alarmed and asked him if my blood pressure was high. That was when he looked at my chart and saw that it was not. He did prescribe very helpful treatment for asthma, but I feel like I cannot go back for refills because although I lost the required weight, I have since gained it back. I had wanted to talk about other health concerns but he kept derailing with unrelated anecdotes and then coming back to my waist size and weight. I guess maybe my swollen joints in my hands are because I'm fat? He should read the research linked at the bottom of this article: http://danceswithfat.wordpress.com/2012/04/21/for-fat-patients-and-their-doctors/

Awful, awful doctor. Nearly killed my poor cousin. Who has a serious auto-immune desease. He simply ignored any symptoms she had, brushing them off. Saying that we go to the doctor for any minor thing here in canada.

I have only dealt with this doctor once at a walk in clinic. He seemed very knowledgeable and thorough. I never noticed any of the negative characteristics mentioned on this page, but I don't smoke or drink in excess.

I think Doctor Malik is the best doctor in town! He is very friendly and knowledgeable. He calls you at home to check on you even on a weekend. He is patient and courteous. Keep up the good work Dr. Malik we need you in Stanley!!!

Dr. M. is a very thorough man.. I find many of the comments on here to be offensive. I have been a patient for years, and yes he addresses weight and smoking - do a little research and you'll see that in many cases, he's RIGHT! He doesn't offer prescriptions right off because he does proper testing, and actually waits for results. Thank's to Dr. M, my husband and I are healthier, and have a precious baby girl!

I am a bit shocked at the negative comments re Dr Malik.I have seen nothing of his alleged"cultural hatred of other cultures'--He gives only a 3 month supply of a prescription---so what? he is not doing this to cause you harm-I'm sure he has his reasons. When he is critical, he is very blunt but it is the truth,He is a good man and a caring doctor. When I was ill, he even called me on a Sunday to see how I was doing. He writes prescriptions based on his professional opinion, not on what you fancy.Keep p the good work Dr Malik.

I have found him extremely helpful to me since I was recently posted to Nb and have no family pysician as of yet. He went out of his way to get me appt's as soon as possible and scheduelle bloodwork and an ultrasound for me. I find it quite comical that the othe reveiws I'm reading about how bad he is seems to be coming from people who don't like what he has to say (which if you get down to it is the truth). Yes he might have made a mistake or two in a diagnosis, but really I would like someone to show me a dct that hasn't ;)

Does not listen well, Talks to much about unrelated subjects, like himself and goes off on tangents. Fails to ask obvious questions. Dr. Malik can be very condescending as well as opinionated.
