She is very immature, she has on multiple occcasions GOOGLED symptoms and treatment right in front of me.
She is unreachable and her office books appointments for 3-4 months in advance. Anything sooner is referred to the hospital.
She should not be allowed to practice and should probably work under the supervision of an actual doctor for the next 5 years.

I visited dr. Anderson several times. She is the only psychiatrist I've seen in my life that put me on the meds she put me on. I became very ill. I slept for days. Now I have to deal with the bill she sent to collections on me for "services performed" for over $1k. Sorry I don't think you performed your services. My first appointment she made a big deal about patients not paying her. Gee, I wonder why?

I was charged several hundred dollar charges, and when I confronted her, she assured me that she would fix it (she didn't know what the problem was). The strange charges continued and she WOULD NOT return my phone calls and voicemails. I am reporting this to Visa so that I can try to get my money back, but she should obviously be reported to some board! Where should I report her? I recommend that you do the same. This is a very strange thing for a therapist/doctor to do. Very untrustworthy.

My experience with Dr Anderson was fair. My complaints are not about her experience or how she helped me, etc, but are about her business ethics. She makes you fill out a credit card form at the first meeting so she can make sure she gets paid if the insurance company or the client won't pay the bills. This is understandable, however, she abused this two separate times with me. She didn't notify me that she couldn't get a hold of my insurance company and charged me $200 without notification. She should have told me she couldn't get through to them. My insurance company had no record of her attempts. I submitted my receipts for this to my insurance company for reimbursement and because of some glitch, they sent the reimbursement check to her and she cashed that, too! It wasn't until after I filed a complaint with the insurance company that I received my check.

Dr. Laura Anderson has been the first out of dozens (in and out of hospitals) able to get and keep me stabilized in spite of such life stressors as a foreclosure, breast cancer and marital troubles. I have met with her weekly for a year, changed meds due to side effects and effectiveness. She really listens. She has a wealth of knowledge of the practice of many types of medicine but responsibly refers to specialists. She caught hypothyroid and vitamin D deficiency when Kaiser had failed to do these simple lab tests months before. Both of those greatly affected my depression. She is empathetic and you can sense she is really listening and considering her response. Her advice has not steered me wrong. I had come to hate psychiatrists and their clinical, formulaic, impersonal approach that made my illness worse. I even went on all herbal remedy's with disastrous results so id never have to deal with modern Psychiatry. She has given me the faith in her field I needed to get better.

Dr. Anderson is the best doctor I have ever had. ALthough she has not been practicing for 30 years like some doctors, she was a nurse prior to going to medical school and it shows, because she really cares, wants to help you solve and work through your problems at your own pace (unlike some doctor's who get impatient and irritable with you), and is very receptive, patient, and motherly with you if she detects that you need it. She is the only doctor I have ever been to that I have been able to cry in front of. She is a lovely wonderful person and doctor. She also works with you helping you manage your medicines by phone rather than making you come in for an appointment although she does have medical management appointments and even when she says she is not taking on additional patients, if you do not need to come in every week, she generally will make time for you.
