I paid one visit to this 'doctor' at an extremely emotional time. I considered myself on the verge of a breakdown and the only 'help' I got from this man was that he is a doctor who treats people with 'real' problems. He suggested that I sort myself out and to stop wasting his time. He brings to mind the addage that: 50% of medical students are bottom of the class and that someone has to be bottom! Never mind that he is a doctor, he is still a very poor reflection of a human being! Does this sound bitter? This is how bad this man can make you feel.
Dr. Starke is a wonderful doctor. He is extremely competent, knowledgeable and compassionate. Dr. Starke is also up to date on all the latest treatment. This has been immensely helpful to myself and my family during a very difficult medical time. I cannot say enough good things about him.he is always on top of things. He has time to discuss my health with me. I never feel rushed. But I do not take advantage of his time. He makes practical doable suggestions on how to improve my health, he helps me take ownership of my health. All in all I have had a very positive experience in this office. I have been a patient here for ten years.
first of all, the staff are rude. dr starke is even worse, he spends less than five minutes with you, and when you ask questions makes you feel stupid and yells at you. he also confused my medical condition with a different one, and yelled at me for being five minutes late, when usually I always have to wait for him. made a comment about how I was wasting his time as there were "very many sick patients", isn't a doctor supposed to treat everyone equally? very poor bedside manner, very grumpy. I would not recommend him and am not going back.
1. Missed my increasing PSA result for 2 years, and missed the palpable prostate lump, finally referred to urologist who said, "you should have been here a year ago". Prostate cancer confirmed by urologist, fortunately not spread. 2. Listeriosis: refused to believe that I was sickened at the same time and place as a number of other victims (McCain recall), and ignored symptoms, including blood poisoning in leg! Outright refused to test me for listeriosis. So weak & sick that I fell down stairs, probable broken ribs from that. 3. Sudden increase in blood pressure (in male at age 75), gave 2 medications to lower it, some tests, supposed to return in 3 months for a physical. Saw a different doctor who is referring me to a cardiologist for a proper follow up, rather than just ignoring the cause of the high blood pressure and treating the symptoms only. Overall a very poor doctor, and won't be going back to him.
Missed very important chances to diagnose major problems. Very quick visits but could spend too much time judging patient and finger wagging, when patient finally saw specialist he was shocked and sent the patient to emergency, wondering how he wasn't in a hospital a weeks before. Missed by Starke. And then after much testing in hospital this Dr. swings by and chose to say everything looks good, but then only to be told by serious specialists to us no it is not good. With questions upon visits (late or kept waiting) like "didn't I give you this last week?" and months before of problems were not treated seriously enough to pass him onto a specialist. Which would have found things sooner. Not impressed, will change in the future if there is one.
I was a patient of his in 2006. He was rude and never spent more than 5 min with me. I could never get a timely appointment the staff was rude. I was also not properly examined and I had to go to a walk-in clinic. When I was examined there I was sent directly to the hospital emergency with a severe heart arrhythmia. I immediately left him and got another doctor.
