My wife and I are both long term patients of Dr. Donat. He saved my life in 2003 when doctors at Rhode Island Hospital repeatedly misdiagnosed my problem and sent me home unable to breathe or function properly. My wife referred me to Dr. Donat (who she credits with saving her), and he quickly determined that I needed to immediately have a pacemaker implanted. It saved my life, and I've been his patient ever since. He always makes you feel comfortable with his warm and caring manner. Also, his wife Susan and the rest of his staff are great!
Hey I'm almost jealous! I though Dr. Donat only produced that magic between patient/Dr. with me alone! He treats me for Cystic Fibrosis & I have no complaints about him. He is HONEST, He is wonderful, kind, warm, and looks beneath the exterior to provide the up most care for me. I truly adore this Dr. & no for sure I'm in GREAT hands.
Dr. Donat is an extraordinary doctor who has excellent diagnostic intelligence and skills. He is truly interested in and committed to the health and well-being of his patients. I cannot rate him highly enough. He helped me recover from a devastating lung illness and has monitored my recovery carefully for eight years. Additionally, the office staff are always kind and hospitable. I would never have done as well as I have without Dr. Donat's help!
Dr. Donat was in over his head with my husbands illness, admitting that he was shooting from the hip with treatment but refusing to refer him to a Doctor in Boston saying, " you think those doctors are smarter than me but they are not". Eventually he relented but not until after he treated my husband, who had a fungal infection, with steroids (something that should not be done unless the patient is on an anti fungal medication). My husband eventually got treatment in Boston but it was too late due to Dr Donat's inappropriate treatment. The short and long of it... Run, don't walk away from Dr. Donat. He let his ego get in the way of appropriate care and it cost my husband his life.
RI Hospital sent me to him because they thought I had lymphoma at 33, turned out to be sarcoidosis. DR DONAT is the best at this. He is caring, attentive and won't stop until he is satisfied. A true blessing. One of those Dr's you are so comfortable you can tell anything!
Dr. Donat is an extraordinary physician for his diagnostic intelligence, sincere care for his patients, and his general professional character. He listened to my story so carefully during my first office visit that I left feeling a burst of hope for the first time in months (since illness onset). This doctor is the just who you want when you are in an extreme condition.
Dr. Donat is very kind and concerned. He is an Excellent MD and even found other things wrong with me that I never suspected while I was there for a visit. He ordered all the test and then referred me to a specialist in the field. He is excellent!
