Dr. Madhavan has changed my outlook and helped me get through some of the darkest days of my life. After my father died, I was grieving and needed assistance. Throughout the last year and a half, Dr. Madhavan has been compassionate, patient, and most of all, helpful. In addition, he has provided me with practical advice for my life and helped me open up to those I love. Would HIGHLY recommend.
I have found Dr. Madhavan to be very direct, knowledgeable, and, most of all, very helpful in a very short time. He is not a typical "peel the onion back to infancy" psychiatrist but explains and illustrates his thinking to be sure you understand. He listens well and I feel "gets" me, which was important to me. I was interested in finding a solution to problems I have now, and he has been very insightful and in a very short time has offered ideas that seem tailored to what my needs are. I would recommend him to anyone seeking solutions and willing to work at solving their problems. He is very pragmatic and there is a "no nonsense, let's get down to business" sense with him, but I appreciate that. I sense he would not like to be called this, but he is a kind man, and I have benefitted already from my visits with him.
My experience with Dr. Madhavan has been all good. He listens to me and has been very helpful in clarifying my diagnosis. Initially he was prescribing my medication and it took some time to find one that helped. I have ended up seeing him weekly for therapy as well and this has been at least as helpful as the medication. He is supportive without being a mush. I would recommend him to anyone who has been frustrated with 10 minute appointments where the doctor just writes a new prescription and sends you out the door.
Inexperienced, immature and young. Seems like he has a chip on his shoulder & something to prove Cocky crass in delivery. Too eager to get you to agree to his "magical" Eight sessions. Makes it known that he is "not just a prescription pad" but that 8 sessions are required. Not a good listener. Not helpful-not even with meds. I went to him to go back on my mood stabilizer that helped for years-NOT for therapy but I felt obligated to do so EVEN THOUGH I WAS NOT REFERRED TO HIM FOR THERAPY BUT FOR MEDICATION MANAGEMENT. Had the nerve to tell me I should get a divorce! I didn't ask his advice and would not have on this issue - HES NOT A MARRIAGE THERAPIST AND IS A TOO YOUNG TO GIVE MARITAL ADVICE. Told me wife to write down her concerns and he would read them to me. She did and then he did not BUT made derogatory comments about her, but did not know her-never met her. Further,he totally & unnecessarily lied. Do not recommend. Seems like a narcissist.
