All-Natural and Almost All-Natural

Culturelle's probiotic pill claims that it is "all natural", supposedly, it puts bacteria into your body that your body would naturally have anyway (whatever that means?)

What chemical thing or ingredient is keeping Align from claiming itself as all-natural?

Thanks for reading.

A significant number of people seem interested in this issue of "all natural" / alternative medicine.

Is it the fact that this type of treatment is :

1. Less likely to cause side effects?

2. Be more effective?

3. Alternative medicine practioners spend more time with their patients, and thus people feel that
their concerns are taken more seriously and / or they are being more effectively heard?

All of the above?

Probiotics work to restore

Probiotics work to restore the balance and harmony of your natural gut flora. These bacteria help improve immunity, digest food and produce vitamins and reduce imflammatory conditions such as eczema. These good bacteria are destroyed regularly (antibiotics, chlorine in drinking water, poor food choices etc) and are typically not replaced leading to many different problems and discomforts.

Probiotics are all natural, but it is very important that you are taking a high quality supplement because chances are cheaper brands will typically not be using the proper human strains (Bifidobacterium bifidum and Lactobacillus acidophilus), a high enough culture count (look for at least 10 billion live bacteria per dose), or they will be dead. Probiotics work very well if taken properly and using a very high quality product.

Because for many of us "alternative" medicine works far better than allopathic medicine. Personally for me, I choose to do what is effective, not what is common.

Thank you for your replies.

Thank you for your replies. I think I will try the Culturelle over the Align, even though I can personally buy the Align for rock-bottom prices.

Many patients can't afford this approach to medicine, as these products can be quite expensive.

Do insurance plans cover alternative medicines?

Many extended health plans do cover a large percentage or even all of it. My parents' extended health plan covered a very large portion of my actual treatments while I was a student. It can be expensive, but it doesn't have to be. All the naturopathic doctors I know are more than willing to work within a budget when cost is an issue.
