Just makes me want to bite nails! No wonder they don't want health care reform. THEY don't need it.
Wanda
Thought so - got tired of it
Thought so - got tired of it being referred to as federal employee insurance which we do pay for - wonder who is the insurance company?? - I wonder if it is for life or just for their term in office?? - Or more life a vestment deal - in so long and then it is paid for??
Wow. That doesn't surprise
Wow. That doesn't surprise me at all.
I think it is a basic human right for everyone to have health coverage, food and affordable shelter if they are in great need.
i know that DOD has coverage
i know that DOD has coverage thru coventry.
They have coverage through
They have coverage through the Bethesda Naval Hospital, just like the President. They can see their regular family
docs through something similar to TriCare. Their medical bills get paid by the federal government so I imagine
you can google it. I use to know Navy docs that worked Congressional and Presidential sick call.

There is a book printed by the federal government that is different for each government department.
Right now it is open season for health insurance plans. I got mine from DOD and it is a couple
hundred pages, printed on very light weight paper. Each page has a boxed in line description of 10 to
12 insurance policies offered by DOD. Of course, they must have a different description for self and
for self and family to explain each insurance plan. It is mind boggling to read. You really end up
price shopping more than anything.
the real test for any health
the real test for any health insurance is if and when you have to use it. may be a real shocker. read the fone print.

all insurance policies are written to confuse the consumer IMHO.
the patients i have are civilian employees of the DOD..
pretty much the only insurance i have seen for military personal, retired, active or reserve is Tricare, either prime or life. and family coverage as well
some reservist who have commercial insurance thru their employer usually has tricare as the secondary coverage.

absolutely Terryr.. in my opinion its organized crime.. very frightening when you "think" you have coverage, then get slammed with very high out of pocket expense.. its devastating, and aweful.. not to mention the increased stress of the bills, compromises the health even more..

Yup, that is what you will find from those affiliated with the military. The Coventry insurance that you referenced earlier
is most likely a regional company and is good to the DOD employees near you. BC/BS is very popular here with most
federal employees. Just a few decades ago, even I can remember, you did not have insurance or you just had ER and
hospital insurance. You paid the doctor for their services. Now we need full coverage for everything.
FOR ANY FED LOOKING FOR
FOR ANY FED LOOKING FOR HEALTH INSURANCE - THERE IS A NON-PROFIT GROUP THAT HAS FOR YEARS PUT OUT A COMPARISON BOOK - THIS YEAR I PULLED IT ON THEIR WEBSITE - SMALL FEE - IT HAS SOMEWHAT OF A LONG NAME - BUT I PULLED IT AS I SEE IT AS I HAVE PREVIOUSLY BOUGHT IT - CHECK BOOK
I knew it was something
I knew it was something different then what the news refers to - same as federal employees.
