I see him regularly for multiple issuesfor a couple of years - best doctor i've ever had - only one who actually followed up on an underlying problem i'd complained about but no one would deal with that ended up being serious - referes to specialist if needed- understanding and great follow up - no issue with personality in fact i think he is straight to the point and honest unlike many others i've seen - but can see some may find his personality quirky - however his hours suck, is away alot, can never get through on the phone, can't leave messages etc so office help is an issue - but i'll trade that for him

I too am surprised to read negative reviews about Dr. Baker. I discovered Dr. Baker when he was covering for my doctor and immediately asked where and when he would be opening his own practice. I was only in for allergy shots, but the two times I saw him, in the 5 minutes I was there, I had a more thorough and pleasant conversation than I had with my own doctor in 10 years! My husband happened to have an appointment that week too and when he was examined by Dr. Baker, he had a more thorough and professional exam than our doctor had ever provided. My husband switched to Dr. Baker as soon as his practice opened and has been very pleased with him. He is organized and professional, very pleasant and personable. I have recommended him to several friends who have been looking for family doctors. Our only complaint is that it can be hard to get through to the office by phone and the automated message can be confusing. But Dr. Baker gets top marks for being empathetic and a good listener!

My family and I are pleased with Dr. Baker and his office staff. He went above and beyond when my daughter was sick-- following up and calling us at home personally. He has a great manner with children especially, making them laugh and feel comfortable while he's checking them.

Dr Baker is generally on time, to the point of cutting your visit short so that he isn't late for the next patient. This can be difficult when you are in there for a stressful situation. He mostly seems to know what he is talking about, and will refer to a specialist if he believes it necessary. He is sympathetic and pleasant, but his office hours are not very good (ie, no evenings or weekends). It's very difficult to get through on the phone, and there is limited space to leave messages. Overall, a great doctor if you are a low-maintenance patient, but I don't know how he would be if you needed longer appointments.

This gentleman is very sarcastic. He is intelligent, and has the ability to provide excellent care to his patients if he chooses to. However, I am not surprised by the mixed ratings on this physician, because his care is as inconsistent as these reviews.

There must be two Dr Jason Bakers! He is my family doctor, he is very kind. I have gone to him with some really big, sensitive medical issues and he has always treated me very well.

I agree that there must be two Dr. Jason Bakers in Toronto. Our entire family goes to Dr. Baker and have nothing but good things to say. In fact he has help us with issues previous Doctors proved to be inept with.

Are there two Dr. Jason Bakers in Toronto? My experience with Dr. Baker is that he is extremely knowledgeable and helpful and I can't imagine the horrid experiences some people are reporting. He does have a quirky sense of humour that threw me at first, but he's an excellent doctor.

I agree with all the other commentary with respect to this man. Without question he picked the wrong vocation. I had two exposures to this doctor both of which were horrendous experiences. One of these was with my mother who was dying of cancer.

Wow, after reading the other comments here I thought we were talking about a different doctor. However, I am sure he is one in the same. Accordingly, I have to totally disagree with the rest of the comments here. I find this man to be a very polite doctor with above good bedside manners. As for his punctuality, I find he may be running a bit behind at times but not to the point of anger. Also, I find his receptionist to be very polite and helpful as well. In a nut shell, I am happy I found this doctor and I trust him totally. Michael C, a happy patient.

This guy is the most obnoxious, smarmy physician that I have come across. Good luck with your practice once supply/demand shifts in favour of patients. He was on time though.

He's in Toronto now. I saw him recently since his partner was not available. I agree totally with the previous ratings, no bedside manner, unsympathetic, not receptive, abrupt, doesn't listen and arrogant manner. Thank heavens he is not my primary FD.

I have to agree with the comment above, although rude and arrogant are putting it nicely. He is not my doctor (thank god) but have dealt with him in the emergancy room, and I have to add, that he does NOT listen to the patient as well. Fortunately for us, he is not practing at our hospital anymore!
