I saw Dr. Brent Young after experiencing pain in my heel. I was taken care of in a timely and efficient manner. Dr. Brent Young diognosed my injury and gave me instructions and meds that helped me. My heel is no longer a problem.
I had a painful ingrown toenail. I got in quick, he no nonsense explained options, fixed my toe, and I was out of there. I had been to other podiatrist before and felt I was being sold or upsold on services. Dr. Young addressed my issue, treated it, and I am on my way.
I spent 1 1/2 years going to an orthopedic doctor for my foot and heal pain. Had I gone to Dr. Young, I would have saved so much time and money. He prescribed a treatment that gave me 90% improvement the first 2 weeks. He is very professional, very knowledgable and has a wonderfully efficient office. Do not hesitate to see him--Dr. Young is great!
I live about 40 minutes away from the office, but went to see Dr. Young because I heard of him through a relative. My son had an in-office procedure that went smoothly with no further complications. I recommend him highly and think his staff is terrific.
Let me tell you how absolutely amazing this Dr is...first off though, I feel compelled to say that I did EXTENSIVE research on the procedure I had done. I had three hammertoes corrected on my right foot and after seeig the overwhelming negative reviews online (does anyone EVER leave a positive review online?) I was, needless to say, very scared about what laid ahead for me.
From the onset Dr. Young was amazing, yes I had to wait awhile past my appointment time to see him but I quickly learned that is because he takes the time to treat you as an jndividual and make sure you fully understand what the procedure you will need entails. He answered EVERY SINGLE question I had in great detail no matter how insignaficant he thought it may be.
The procedure was uncomfortable but not agonizing and he ultimately made is less scary for me and his assistant was off the charts amazing.
The worst part was the freezing and no amount of discomfort in my recovery was as bad as going throughthe procedure and I think that says a lot. He doesn't put the patient completely under sedation which in my opinion is FAR better.
Now, that all being said, he did basically break three of my toes and put steel rods in them. I was very surprised that i had virtually NO pain or discomfort within the first week at all. Follow his guidelines and I believe this will be true with anyone.
I had slight discomfort after the bandage change the first week but nothing untolerable and after two more weeks when I had a complete bandage change there was quite a bit more pain. I know this is because the bandages were holding my toes in place and without that my toes hadthe ability to move more freely, thus causing pain. It was temporary though and only lasted a few days.
The most frusating thing was not being able to have a proper bath or shower cause the rods cannot get wet. That soon also passed.
My toes look and fell better now than they ever did and YES I can whatever shoes I want including heels.
Sorry for the long post, but honestly someone needed to post something positive about having this procedure done. I hope someone finds this and realizes that admist all the negitivity out there about getting this done it IS worth it in the end. Like Dr. Young says..."It's basically an hour and a half of my time and four to eight weeks of your time to recover". Take the time to recover properly and all will be fine!
I highly recommend this surgeon and he is 100% a class act and worth every 9enny and minute I spent in the waiting room.
Neither my Physical Therapist or my Family Doctor could help my sore toe that felt like it was being jammed every time I walked. I finally found Dr. Young who made a special orthotic and prescribed eswt. I got better almost immediately.
what a nice and pleasant young man. I think he is one of the most knowledgable doctors I have ever seen. He was slow and took lots of time talking about not important matters, but he did a good job on my bunion surgery and I can return to my long walks. I highly recommend his surgical skills.
As a 26 year-old I was at first a little apprehensive about bunion surgery. After meeting the entire team I felt completely at ease. Ever part of my experience was made clear to me and the staff made sure I was comfortable and knew what was going on. Everything from initial x-rays, through the operation and each physical therapy session was a positive experience. It's been a year since my procedure and I'm happy to say that I'm fully recovered and dancing with pride! Cheers to Dr. Brent Young and his talented team!
