It wasn't until college that I sought help for A.D.D and made an appointment with Dr. Sosin. I was in Calc II and could only do a few problems before starting to drift (loose focus). Now I can focus as long as need be. Here is my pre/post treatment summary: 'C' student through high school and into college; carried 2.3 GPA at point of first session with Dr. Sosin; GPA is now 3.1 i.e., turned 'A' student thanks to Dr. Sosin.
Doctor David E. Sosin has done more for me than anyone could ever imagine. Since the first visit it was an amazing feeling to have someone completely and genuinely understand the hardships one of his patients is enduring. He is always spot on with how I am feeling and how I am thinking and I thought that there would be no one who could truly see eye to eye with me. He is a man of few words, but POWERFUL. He doesn't have to say much but every word hits me like a brick of brand new perspective on society and life. He has drastically changed my life for the better. Doctor David E. Sosin is not simply just a Psychiatrist who doesn't know or care about his patients, He is now a role model and friend no question about it. He doesn't sugar coat anything and he tells it how it is. In the society we live in today, people sugar coat everything and it's just annoying and wrong. It's rare to meet down to earth individuals who genuinely care about their work, because it's not work for him.
Having recently moved to SoCal, I called Dr. Sosin's office seeking a consult to continue care for my ADHD. The receptionist's attitude on the phone was absolutely deplorable. She immediately took on a condescending tone when I told her I was uninsured, making some very offensive remarks and unnecessary assumptions. She told me that I should not waste Dr. Sosin's time scheduling an appointment because I would not be able afford the $585 consult fee. Really, lady? Really?! You ought to know better than that. It's really cute that you think you know how much money I have in the bank. Maybe you should pursue a career as a psychic instead? I truly hope Dr. Sosin finds a new receptionist if he hopes to maintain his good reputation. His staff's unprofessional attitude is NOT doing him any favors. Such a disappointment - I was looking forward to meeting him, too.
David Sosin is a great doctor, possessing a unique combination of knowledge and sensitivity. He is very diligent when it comes to listening to feedback from his patients, allowing him to tailor treatment strategies to the individual. He has made a difference in my life and I can not recommend him highly enough.
They just don't make 'em like this anymore: empathetic to a fault, trustworthy, trusting, full of integrity, meticulous, kind, interested, willing, charitable, down-to-earth. No hand shakes, just hugs. He talks to you as an equal, and not as a condescending intellectual superior as most doctors do. When he prescribes, he makes sure the medication(s) are covered by your insurance. He listens intently and asks lots of questions, and then formulates an effective treatment plan from a logical thought process and his thirty years of experience as an Ivy-League-educated doctor. He must genuinely love helping people, because he's still a practicing doctor even with his 76th birthday approaching next week--and his intellect is still as sharp as ever! I also appreciate his down-to-earth straight talk, talking to you as he would a friend. There's no bull**** or trying to put on a facade. What you get is what you see. Donna, the front desk nurse, is also very sweet. Thanks Dr. Sosin!
I have been a patient of Dr.Sosin's for about three years. In the So. California area he is regarded as the authority on ADD. Dr. Sosin is always very thorough and informative during his treatments. He makes sure you understand his diagnosis and how he plans to treat you as a patient. He is a very caring and compasionate man which I have found hard to find in the the medical professional these days. I think so highly of him I fly in from the east coast for my therapy.!
Dr. Sosin is a life-saver! I cannot express enough how much he helped me become a better medical student, family member, and overall-- a better, happier, more productive person! While I had been a very successful high-school and college student thus far, I started to struggle during my first year of medical school. This led to much frustration, and eventually to depression. As a relatively high achieving student, I found it hard to believe that I could have had ADD. I incorrectly believed the myths surrounding the stereotypical day-dreaming 10 year old girl, or overly hyper, uncontrollable little boy. As someone who had been a valedictorian, and gained acceptance into medical school, I really found it hard to believe that I could have ADD. To make matters worse, this myth was being supported by my medical professors. I am so grateful that Dr. Sosin is a physician who is open-minded, incredibly empathetic, and someone who genuinely cares for his patients!!
I heard a radio interview Dr. Sosin gave on/about ADD and realized I had ALL the "symptoms" of ADD. After several tests and interviews with Dr. Sosin, it was obvious what had caused me to struggle so much through high school, college, and graduate school. Dr. Sosin recommended several drugs for treatment which were tried over the following months. Finally we found the combination best for me and I've been on them for 16 years. I have been a patient of Dr. Sosin's now for 16+ years. Has it changed my life? No! I was a successful business entrepreneur before. The treatment Dr. Sosin prescribed has made my life better by making me better and more efficient. If I had to guess at a number, I'd say I'm 20% more efficient because of the treatment Dr. Sosin prescribed. I am very glad I heard that radio interview 16+ years ago!
After years of struggling with undiagnosed ADD Dr. Sosin provided me with the answers and help I couldn't find elsewhere. HIs wealth of knowledge and candor make him easy to talk to and understand. And his insights on ADD are impressive to say the least. I can't imagine expecting more from a doctor, and I feel fortunate to have found his help. I'd recommend him to anyone.
Dr. Sosin helped me get through some seriously tough times when I was going through a really bad depression. Also I have a really high tolerance for drugs... after a few months they stop working, so he helped me switch off to other meds when they stopped working. I am know at the point where I don't need any medication because I tapered off little by little. I truly recommend him for people who have severe migraines and/or have ADD or ADHD as well.
