Was greeted at Emergency by informing us that is was a 4hour wait - did we want to wait? Bad first impression. I agree that the waiting is very modern but they don't use it. They then send you to these tiny rooms with old chairs that give you the feeling that the room is filthy. I didn't feel that the nurses had any compassion for the sick people in the unit. While the doctor was full of energy she was not willing to listen to the patient and continually interrupted. I got the impression that they keep you around for the 4hrs which is probably a target. As long as they reach their targets they don't care whether the patient has received good compassionate care. What happened to the Ottawa Hospital's "world Class" care!!

This hospital has a great waiting room, but they don't use it... instead they stick you in this tiny box with chairs from the 70s with like 25 other coughing people that are wihin 10 feet of your face as if to spread disease on purpose... The Staff inst as rude and horrible as Civic but aren't very friendly either. The Doctors on the other hand are far nicer and likely to help you out than Civic.

Recently was a patient for reconstructive hip surgery (3rd) and everything went extremely well. Extremely good medical care from doctors and nurses and physical therapists.
