The Moncton Hospital

Went to this hospital for a Whipple Surgery in 2023. While in surgery pathologist made a misdiagnosis of Cancer. Whipple now turned into a complete Pancreatectomy and Splenectomy because of this misdiagnosis! (removed my whole pancreas and spleen). My life has been ruined. I now have to be on 4 insulin injections a day for Diabetis and my sugar levels are near impossible to manage. There are only 2 surgeons that do this surgery at Moncton Hospital and I believe HE should have investigated my situation more before surgery. Turns out I had Auto Immune Pancreatitis that could have been treated with Steroids!! Can't put my organs back now! Met with the "higher ups" at this hospital to discuss what happened and they think they did nothing wrong! No mistakes were made! Unbelievable!!

I've had some experiences with fantastic nurses at this hospital but far too many with nurses who were cold, uncaring, and on one occasion, borderline abusive. Then some are just uninterested in doing their jobs, they're too preoccupied gossiping to notice a patient in distress calling for help. Serious question, do the staff never get performance reviews? I realize there is a shortage of nurses, but...you surely need *some* standards for working with people at their most vulnerable. I cannot imagine what one would have to do to get fired from this place.

ER wait times, OH MY GOD. Obviously it’s not all on the hospital, the provincial government needs to do better in terms of healthcare. But man…I personally know multiple people who’ve waited over 24 hours for something life-threatening and urgent. Also, seems like it’s Russian Roulette whether you get staff that are amazing or staff that clearly don’t give a crap. Cleanliness loses a few points because I saw on one unit a poster that said 68% of staff on the unit engaged in proper hand hygiene. Thankfully that’s not the case on most of them?

Took my daughter into ER on Monday February 26th for a migraine and visual issue. Was very pleased with care. Checked by Doctor who was very professional and kind. CT scan and blood work done. In and out in 4 hours which I thought was very reasonable considering it was quite busy. Thank you to all staff. Norma

We have never experienced such a lack of care, rude staff and laziness. The staff here are at work for two things, money and socializing. This is why people wait 20 hours plus in the ER. Once inside the back rooms thinking yes now I can get the care and what does one see, yes socializing most times 5 or more at the desk talking past trips, family and a whole lot of nothing. Definitely not patient related talk…yes who cares. Don’t get fooled by the adds on tv, Canada health care stinks…period. Shame on all the so called heath care providers.

Should be 1 star. Garbage hospital took forever to get into ER.

Took my 96 year old mom there on Friday for one type surgery, ended with another. Well looked after inemergency room. Staff and doctors very kind and gentle with her

Useless staff. All on their phones. Absolutely unacceptable, they can’t even clean the windows or wipe off ledges or anything. Never seen such useless staff anywhere in my life. Could’ve gotten better medical attention at Tim Hortons.

Moncton City Hospital HUGE MISS My grandmother went to visit her sister in palliative care two days ago (because she doesn’t have much time left) & she was denied access to her dying sister. And her name was ON the list of loved ones allowed to visit. She died today….😔 With that being said… What in the actual fawk is wrong with people ???!! Does the Moncton city hospital expect their patients that are dying to die alone without seeing their family or saying goodbye now ?! I hope the ones that deny family from visiting their loved ones before they pass are happy with themselves. How would you feel if that was your sister, aunt, mother, or godmother?! Pretty damn sickening if you ask me ! MONCTON CITY HOSPITAL YOU NEED TO DO BETTER !!!!

I came here with my 1 year old daughter who was constantly running temperature at 4pm, this is 11.30pm and she’s yet to see any doctor. I don’t know how long we need to stay more to see just a doctor! This is horrible! No value for human lives at all. Probably we will get home by 3am.
