They should listen to their patients and respect the wished of their patients. Not loosing patient files is also a good thing. Maybe not making their patients mor sick then when they arrived might be a good thing too,

Literally everytime I go there I am told there's nothing wrong with me and I am basically wasting everyone's time. I will never step foot in this hospital again

Went in for a colonoscopy, told to be there for noon and I was , finally got in for my colonoscopy at 215pm. Change room had a sign over the waste basket, please don't pee (yes--pee, not the word" urinate", in basket, use washroom. Really, there are people who pee in the waste basket, where do these pigs come from--I wonder. The hospital entry is flanked by smokers and the front lobby is grubby.

I had surgery at this hospital on Sept. 3, 2014. I was in Unit 44, 4th floor and it is definitely the best hospital I have ever been in. Every last individual I had contact with which included the porters, anesthesiologist, nurses (on the ward and in surgical), surgeon & residents behaved in a manner that was kind, caring, empathetic and professional. They went beyond their required duties to make me feel cared for and they were incredibly understanding & very very kind-something that is rarely encountered in healthcare facilities nowadays. They were beyond wonderful & exhibited a tremendous level of compassion - I am horrifically claustrophobic & have terrible surgical anxiety - these wonderful human beings made sure I was never once put in a position that would trigger a panic attack & believe me when I say that behavior s darned near unheard of. To the staff so you know who I am, -my surgery was vein removal @ 1:45 (Dr. A)
surgery rm 7...thank you ever so much & to the wonderful anesthesiologist - my most sincere gratitude -I noticed how careful you were to ensure my arms remained mobile so as not to trigger a panic episode - thank you very very much to all of the exceptional professionals who went above & beyond for me, I am most grateful.

I dont recommend this place. long lineup every time ive gone. takes me 4-5 hours to get in and out. they had this old lady put my cast on my wrist and she wrapped it in a hurry. i visited another hospital 4 days later and even they noticed how poorly the cast was put on(too tight and not positioned correctly). Ive had my cast taken off before with no problems but for some reason she couldn't get it off me and ended up aggressively sawing into the thumb area and going right over my break. she then said cutting the material would hurt me a little as she cut my thumb open a little with scissors.
Ive gone twice, and gotten the same old lady. she really isnt qualified to work there if she cant put a cast on or take one off with any compassion or without causing pain.
the other staff and doctors are alright but overall this place is amateur hour.

On two separate occasions I've had surgery here and each time come out satisfied with how I was treated and the care I received. I've also been treated in a "special" ward with great attention to my welfare at all times. The doctors and nurses are unfailing in their duties. They are under incredible pressure and responsibility. On my last visit the doctor who examined me for inpatient treatment was abrupt with me but later apologized. It wasn't necessary but appreciated. Rather than feeling offended, I had empathy for him. I am intelligent enough to recognize why it happened because I am very familiar to stress at the breaking point. The hospital does need some architectural and systems upgrades. It is an older facility however well equipped and spotless.

This is a very unclean hospital. Most of the doctors and nurses lacked compassion of any kind. They should realize that they need to treat the whole family and whole patient when dealing with a critical patient. I would not reccemend this hospital.

Grey Nuns has been my choice for emergency visits for more than 15 years. More modern than most Edmonton Hospitals, and fewer people going to their Emergency dept. Service is fairly quick since they do not get as many serious emergency admissions as the other hospitals. I have also used several of their outpatient clinics - again good staff and service, great Docs.
