:( Click to report rating    9/2/09 1 1 1 I have been going ton Dr. Oates for a year. She is very unprofessional and sarcastic. She lets others(Lisa Wagner) write her prescriptions. I have prescriptions written in several different handwrittings. I was seeing Lisa for therapy and I am not even sure is she is cerified. They abruptly stopped my medication and they were suppossed to be reduced gradually. I don't know what kind of office they are running but I won't be returning.

:( Click to report rating    7/23/09 1 1 1 I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND DR.OATES TO ANYONE EVEN TO MY ENEMIES. I HAD MY FIRST DAUGHTER WITH HER AND ON MY APPOINTMENTS SHE WOULD BURP INFRONT OF ME, I ASKED HER HOW MUCH I WEIGHED AND SHE CAME BACK AT ME WITH A SMARTASS ANSWER TALKIN BOUT HOW WOULD SHE KNOW IF THE BOOK ISNT IN HER HAND LIKE SHE COULDNT JUST LOOK AT IT. WHEN I HAD MY BABY SHE WAS SOOOO LATE AND WHEN SHE GOT THERE WAS VERY RUDE AND UPSET THAT SHE HAD TO LEAVE HER HOME TO COME DELIVER MY BABY LIKE I WAS A WASTE OF TIME. WHEN SHE HAD TO COME TO THE HOSPITAL SHE TOLD ME AND MY HUSBAND THAT WE WERE UGLY PARENTS AND THAT SHE WAS AT CHURCH SO WHY COULDNT WE WAIT. SHE JUST HAS SOME LIL ATTITUDE THAT NO PREGNANT WOMEN WANTS TO DEAL WITH. HER STAFF WAS FINE TO ME BUT I WOULDNT EVEN GET MY 6WEEK CHECK UP WITH HER. I WENT TO THE E/R FOR THAT JUST TO AVOID HAVING TO DEAL WITH HER.

:) Click to report rating    4/30/09 4 5 5 I don't know what everyone else is talking about but I have had nothing but great experiences with Dr. Oates. I will admit that she is a bit intimidating but grow up people and stop being so sensitive. Dr. Oates is a very nice and friendly person, I would recommend her to everyone having a baby. I have got to be one of the most pickiest, careful, and detailed person I know and if I approve of Dr.Oates then I believe anyone else would be satisfied also.

:( Click to report rating    2/1/09 1 1 1 Dr. Oates is the most unprofessional doctor I've ever come in contact with. Her office manager is a B too and tried to blame the office staff for Dr. Oates problems. I have been left naked from the waste down several times waiting for the doctor to come in to do the exam after the nurse leaves. I was left in there like that several times for over 45 min!!!! The last time that happened, I got up and got dressed and walked out. The office was very upset with me for leaving and had their office manager call me at home and she blamed the office staff for Dr. Oates never coming in there to attend to me. Then jumped me and said that I shouldn't have left like that. I wouldn't have left like that if it would have been the first time. That was at least 3 or 4 times that this had happened within a 3 month time period. That office is disorganized and they blame each other for all the problems they have. Several staff members told me I was too "white" to get treated with respect there. ?

:( Click to report rating    1/23/09 1 1 1 Dr. Oates and her staff were the rudest people I've ever come in contact and the most unprofessional office. She delivered my sons after we moved to Houston. Then 2 years later my daughter came along. We are not originally from Houston so we didn't know who else to go to. She wouldn't see you until an hour and a half or more after your appointment time. Forget about even spending any quality time with her when she does get in the room with you. One day I was sitting in the hallway and was so worn out and tired. 8-9 months pregnant with twins... I looked up and just happened to say Hi, Ms. Oates as she was passing by (wasn't even thinking about what I said.) She whirled around and told me straight up that she is a doctor and should be addressed as such and that her momma is called Ms. Oates, NOT HER! Can you believe that? She is rude and doesn't deserve to be taking care of mothers caring precious babies. DO NOT GO TO THIS LADY. YOU WILL DEFINITELY REGRET IT!!!!

:( Click to report rating    12/12/08 1 3 1 I have been a patient of Dr. Oates for going on 10 years now and have never been so disrepected and dissmissed in my life by a doctors office. The staff is poor and they a completely unprofessional. I would not advise anyone to go to her until and unless she get a better team (office team) under her. It is apparent that business is not her specialty. For 4 days this week they have had an answering machine on during whole work day and when you do leave a message (which you should not have to do) they don't call back nor do they resolve the issue. They also have a recording saying the office is closed due to hurricain "Ike"!! (that was motnhs ago) I am completely outraged and appauled at this and will be taking my healthcare elsewhere immediately. To make matters worse they have the wrong address listed on the voicemail. This is very, very disappointing. At this point I would NOT suggest that anyone go to her especially if you are pregnant.

:( Click to report rating    9/22/08 5 1 1 She was a horrible doctor. I would not recommend her to even an emergency situation patient. She did not tell me the dangers of a csection delivery and that my baby could get fluid in his lungs. He had to stay in the hospital for 2 days after I was released. The only time I even saw her was when she came in to check on me. She was all done up like she was going out for the evening. She only stayed a minute or two at her visit. I felt betrayed as a patient when she didnt give the proper info. Even when I had my spinal epideral, I felt her tugging and pulling at my incision to close at the end of surgery. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR!!!

:) Click to report rating    10/11/07 2 1 2 She's really hard on first time parents and is almost intimidating. You have to wait a long time to be called to the back for observation. Then wait even longer for her to come in the exam room.

:) Click to report rating    8/23/07 4 4 4 Dr. Oates has been my OBGYN since 1999. I am experiencing my third pregnancy under her care. Dr. Oates and her staff are very knowledgable and experienced. She is tough on you only because she cares about your health. She gets an A+ in my book!

:( Click to report rating    4/28/07 2 1 Her fees are $250 per visit. If you want a doctor that will come in, check you in a few seconds and walk out.. then she is your doctor. At the end of your check up she will simply ask you if you have any questions and that is it.. she didnt take the initiative to tell us what we needed to know. And when I did ask questions about anything or had fears or worries, she simply said dont worry about it and never really explained anything. First time parents are clueless right? As first time expecting parents.. we thought we would get more out of our OB. She did NOTHING to educate us or even tell us what kind of classes to sign up for, things to do step by step, or keep us current with ensuring a smooth pregnancy. She is nice and thats about it.

:| Click to report rating    11/13/06 1 3 several office visits took over one hour to see doctor. office staff was sometimes rude. Dr. was not patient when asked for details about test results. Acted as if I didn't need to know the details about my own test results & didn't seem to know the answers! Dr was overall friendly, but too many other negatives.
