Spent most of the appointment criticizing me for having looked up information on the Internet. Told me NOT to do research on my own. Was not aware of recent findings. Really did not seem as knowledgeable as his reputation. A disappointment.

I'm the same person that wrote the last review--from 4/2. On the second day I saw Joel Richter he was very thoughtful, encouraging, patient and apologetic for his meeting with me the previous day. He was encouraging, patient, and kind. An amazing transformation, but worth keeping in mind: if you catch him on a day he's overworked and with interns, he may be rude and dismissive. Alone and with time on his hands he can be an amazing doctor to consult. Either way know that he is very knowledgeable and potentially your best ally. Good luck.

A knowledgeable **** whose response to key questions regarding choices that would effect the health of my esophagus was "read my lips" and "and all that." Vague, rude, and inconsiderate. I'm sure you can find better and do your research yourself.
