My son spent several weeks there and he is my my baby, and I don,t care how old he is. This place is exceptional for taking care of people from the doctors to housekeeping. This is his second visit to your location and trust me; it would not have been if you guys weren't doing what you do. Now he is a pretty sick kid and needs a lot of attention from his care giver. This place has done it all when I,m unable to come out I feellll safe with his care and when I call the staff informative. I feel like family!

My dad has spent several weeks at your location, what we thought was just so impressive is the way you resolve issues the families may have. We do want to be honest, there was an issue, but when we brought to the attention of the staff they were more concern than we were. They made sure it was resolved right away and apolgy on the behalf of Kindred. What we really liked was they listen and just didn’t sweep it under the rug as so many places will do. The doctors and nurse were just excellent care giver and explained everything in a way we could understand. Making sure his medication was correct and given when needed. My dad is a vegetarian and they made sure he got his meals correctly. He really enjoyed the staff in rehab and getting out of the room and working on getting his body moving. We had a family care meeting with a group of nurses, dietitian, case manager, and respiratory. His room was never out of order and he always was presentable for the family. On behalf of Bhai family we thank you all.

My dad has been here several weeks and every time I come he is smiling. The staff knows him by name and treats him with kindness, trust be he wouldn't be smiling if it wasn't so. They know me and what I expect them to do with my dad overall care. Making sure he is getting his medication on time and correctly, he is clean, and they are working with every way possible. Kindred has met all are goals. I'm happy!!!

My dad spent about 2months and throughout his stay, we know he was given the best of care. We were always informed about his care in a timely matter and the staff was well informed in the day and night. What we really enjoyed was how they all came together, regarding the best plan of care for dad.

My son is here and he is a young man, that hate being sick. We sometimes think he is embarrassed about his situation and that doesn't help with the healing process. The staff at Kindred is caring and doing everything possible to help him over come some of his personal issues. They really care about my son and show it everyday he is here. They will ask how are you and are we doing what you expect us to do. They are reachable in person or on the phone and most important of all I'm confident in the care being provided. A big thank you to all of you and keep up the good work.

For me, Kindred Chicago Lakeshore was a necessary bridge between intensive care and returning to my home and family. The reason my doctors and my family placed me in their care was to help me wean from the ventilator and trach tube, and for rehab services to regain strength and mobility. It was at Kindred I first became aware and apprehensive of my situation. As my sons explained what had happened to me, I was scared I might never be able to talk, eat, or breathe on my own. Then I met my Speech Therapist who spoke softly but matter-of-factly about her plan to help me find my voice. Within the first 24 hours my family and I met other members of the rehabilitation staff, and of course we were getting to know the various shifts of nursing and respiratory staff. To say I was at the right place, with the right people, at the right time is understated. The staff works together like a well-oiled machine, moving in sync toward common goals. They put a lot of effort into getting me breathing, talking, and home. A little more than a year has passed. Because of the trach, I am unable to sing, scream, or whistle, but I can talk and, physically, I am where I was before the event. For me and for my family, Kindred Chicago Lakeshore was an answer to our prayers, and we thank God for their excellent care.

My son is walking and speaking clearly now and Kindred staff helped him to reach that goal. He is a teenager and become’s board easily; they made sure he had things to do continually throughout his stay. Believe it or not they brought in a VCR with movies, computer and other fun things. One of the nurses went out and bought him an x-box and games were brought in by other staff members. I told the staff no one had every did anything like this for my family; it was unbelievable and heart warming. We even receive a box of goodies from the Chicago White Sox Team amazing. His team of experts: doctors, nurses, cna’s, physical therapists, speech therapists, respiratory, and the clinical dietitian were great. Kindred thank you for taking care of my precious son. ET
