I've been admitted here twice for severe stomach cramps to the point of passing out and vomiting, the first time I was admitted the staff were friendly, knowledgeable but didn't send me for any tests, just sent me on home with some pain killers. About a week later I ended up back there for the same problem this time the doctor was extremely rude, told me there was nothing he could for a tummy ache and sent me home in tears. Not long later I ended up at a different hospital after passing out at a friends birthday, here they sent me for ultra sounds, blood work and kept me overnight for observation and they found a twist in my small intestine which was fixed by some very basic muscle relaxants.

I was admitted there for pneumonia in October 2013. I was abused by the emergency room physician and later on told that I had low vitamin K (I was a sedentary patient and my vitamin K levels were fine because of the multivitamins I was taking) and gave me a mega dose of vitamin K which resulted in me developing a blood clot in my leg, which they did not bother to check. I was abused by another physician, screaming at me to discuss my "drinking problem" and I do not drink. Did not get much in the way of food (wouldn't give me what I ordered or not even a plain glass of water to wash it down with), sleep (staff screaming at me everytime I managed to get to sleep) or showering (told the shower was down the hall. I've got I. V. tubes in me). And I had nurses who would not follow doctor's orders.

Very nice, clean and modern hospital. Considering that health care in Canada is free, probably the $value is irrelevant.

I was unfortunate enough to spend six weeks in ICU and the surgical wards in 2014 (I'm 26) and the care could honestly not have been better. It was faultless over all seven emergency operations - from the surgeons down to the HCA's and even cleaners who sanitised every inch of the room twice a day. The building itself is spacious, calm and does not have the typically uncomfortable "hospital" feeling. The medical team as a whole saved my live and I will be forever grateful. If you ever need to spend an extended period in hospital, I suggest you head to SHC.

Wonderful hospital and staff. Very attentive and helpful. They seem to genuinely care and I've never met anyone who works there that doesn't seem to enjoy working there. Always have a had positive experiences.

Nice architecture. Horrible attitude from plastic surgeon Dr. GROVER.. without my knowledge, permission and against my will, he cancelled my daughters critical hand surgery and passed it onto a general surgeon at a later date. He contacted me personally to tell me he had done this (known as payback) because someone said i called him a jerk over the phone. Unfotunate representation of Calgary's South Health Campus
