I recently went into the Rockyview Emergency with a very low heart rate. I was moved almost immediately to the Cardiac Care Unit where I was watched over very carefully by the excellent staff,, headed by cardiologists Dr. Filipchuk and then later Dr. Ma. It was determined that I needed a pacemaker so I was transported to Foothills Hospital for that procedure, and then brought back to the cardiac unit at Rodkyview for recovery. I was in hospital for a total of 13 days and felt that the care was excellent all the way through, from the top down, including the 3rd year nursing students who were helping with the patients and added a little ray of sunshine. The food was excellent and the room I shared with another patient in the cardiac unit was spacious and had a spectacular view of Glenmore Lake. One small complaint only - the commode chair did not always stay in proper place over the toilet and that sometimes led to a problem of sorts. My thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and other staff for a job well done.

My experience today with this hospital was totally unacceptable rating a mere 1 out of 10. While taking my 92 year old father who walks very poorly to a urology appointment that we had waited for over 5 weeks, we were confronted firstly with finding parking to be not available . After finding parking on the top floor of Lot 9, we were confronted with having to take the stairs 6 floors as the only one elevator in the structure was being serviced during busy daytime hours and was not operating. Bad management thank you Rockyview. Taking the stairs was not an option for us and after calling the Doctor several times to let them know of our situation, we were not able to reach his receptionist or even leave a message. Please beware if you are referred to this hospital.

Unfortunately I had to go in as an emergency patient - broken ankle in three places. Staff in both emergency and on the orthopaedic ward were compassionate and caring even though the hospital was heaving at the seams with patients. I could not have asked for better care (not that I hope to have a revisit). Well done Rockyview.

My mom has been in and out of emergency and ICU several times and the nurses and assistants are amazing and compassionate. I've never met so many truly kind people. I can't thank them enough for taking such good care of my mom!

Staff appear to be too busy to provide nursing care. Spend most of the time looking at the computer.

I was at Rockyview for two occasions. When I broke my hand I was in Emergency, then came in for hand surgery, and then had several appointments at the hand clinic afterwards. The ER had long wait times, but the service was good in the end. I got a date for the surgery two days later, which also went well. However, the Hand Clinic was a gong show - the doctors only saw patients once a week and it was always crowded. The hand surgeons are all plastic surgeons, so it sometimes felt a little like being a second class patient and they'd prefer to be doing someone's boobs instead at that moment. But that's not really the hospital's fault... The second occasion I was there was for the birth of my son, which was a really excellent experience. Everyone was great - the nurses, the doctors, and the OR staff. We felt very well taken care of, both in Labor & Delivery as well as Post-Partum.

The night housekeeper in ER is a gem of a lady. Overall the ER is great with the excecption of a few nurses. The seucrity staff really need to be overhauled.

My Mom was here for a broken hip and she was treated so well. Not only did they give her a nice comfortable newer room, but they also did excellent follow-up with her physiotherapy and exercises after the surgery. She had excellent service throughout her stay. Thankyou to the caring staff at the Rockyview.
