Disappointing. Would not recommend to anyone or go back there myself. I would think she doesn't get much repeat business.

I have seen this doctor many times. As you read these comments one has to realize that this doctor has a problem. Sometimes she can be extremely moody and rude and not very nice. Other times the visit goes well. Sometimes she can even smile. It is not good when a doctor does not listen to her patients... no matter how busy she is. Not good when a patient's questions are not answered. Not good when the doctor is preoccupied and does not listen to her patient. We are not there because we have nothing to do. Empathy goes a long way, Dr. Baxter. Those of you who have had good visits... lucky you. But don't say that others must have deserved a rude remark. I have seen both side of this doctor.

My GP sent my 13 yr old to this doctor for dry,itchy,flaking skin.I decided not to go with any preconceived ideas despite the negative ratings. Unfortunately,the postings were accurate. When I explained my daughter's symptoms she seemed very irritated that I was wasting her time. Said she had "itchy skin" and 'there is no such thing as an itch doctor'. Asked repeatedly if there was any over the counter treatment I could get to relieve her symptoms. Said she would not give her steroids. I did not and would never ask for steroids, as I know they have many undesirable side effects. Told me to give her Claritin or Reactine before she gets in the shower!! I asked at least 4 times about the skin peeling from the bottom of her feet and she never even acknowledeged it. I work with the public and treat them with respect - even when they may not deserve it. I was polite and professional but found her behaviour totally unacceptable. If your GP wants to send you here,ask for another specialist.

After reading the reviews on this forum I was very hesitant about keeping my appointment today. But because my daughter has a skin issue I felt I needed to keep it. We were pleasantly surprised by our treatment once we arrived at the doctor's office. The admin were very courteous and polite. There was absolutely 0 wait time. We got in at our scheduled time. Dr Baxter dignosed the issue, gave advise and a prescription that she wants to check on in 4 months. For those of you who were concerned about her "bad" bedside manner; unless she was treating you in the hospital or in your bed at home I don't think this even comes into the equation. And for those of you who felt she had cut you off when you were self-diagnosing; you went to a professional for a reason. To see a doctor. My daughter and I had a great experience, and look forward to seeing her again.

I was sent to Dr. Baxter by my GP after six months of trying to solve a skin condition. My condition was one that came and went in "flare-ups" and by the time I would get to the doctor the worst of the symptoms were generally gone. Dr. Baxter not only eximined me in front of a large picture window (in some very delicate areas) but then proceeded to tell me that she was not in the "business of tracking down symtoms" and not to bother coming in with just "red skin". I left her office and cried in my car for an hour before I could face going back to work. Thankfully my GP send me to a Halifax Clinic where I met another, and wonderful, Dr. Baxter who took the time to get to the bottom of my extremely rare condition. I'm happy to report that after two years I'm finally feeling better. NOTHING would convince me to return to Dr. Kathy Baxter's office.

I felt I had to send in a blog. Well I have seen her in the past, as well as several of my family members. Unfortunately people can be negative and love to complain, but unfortunately, few take the time to praise someone. Dr. Baxter has treated my family exceptionally well. Her appointments have been very prompt and her staff very pleasant. She has always been polite and never rushes you out the door. Some people are confrontational by nature and determined that they know more than the doctor. Well as you can see by the charts in her office, she has been doing this a long time and while your particular issue is very important to you and you are sure you are the only one with this particular condition, it is probably not by a long shot something new to her. She has no doubt treated it many times, so trust that she knows what she is treating. I would strongly recommend her as a doctor.

Dr. Baxter is incredibly rude and condescending. She is pompous and refuses to hear what she does not want to. She immediately prescribed me the most common acne drug in the world, without much thought or examination. My skin has cleared, but I continue to visit her every 2 months and I dread visiting her more than I dread surgeons and dentists. She has no compassion and I have sat in her office for over 30 minutes while she chatted with the patient before me (who was obviously also a friend). Her staff is very friendly and helpful, and are almost apologetic for Dr. Baxters abruptness. She is mean spirited and definitely feels she is above everyone else.

I did not find she knew what she was talking about...would not answer my questions and was condescending. I have since cleared up my problem myself after she told me it was something different. I cannot rec. her.

I went to see this physician, I found her to be rude, uncaring and really did not care about my problem. She misdiagnosed me and I had my problems for a long time before I could get an answer from another dermatologist who was professional and right on the mark about my condition. I think she needs to go somewhere to learn some bedside mannors.
