Being a patient of Dr. Rival's has been an absolute pleasure! Ever since my first consultation, I knew he was the right doctor to perform my rhinoplasty. When shaping my nose on the Dr. Rival app, he knew exactly what I wanted and what would look good on me. He answered every question I had and not only is he knowledgable, but he is extremely kind and compassionate as well. My surgery was just this morning and while I was waiting in my assigned room, he came in and talked to me about the procedure, making me confident and reassured that everything was going to be fine. I was extremely nervous, but he made me feel so much better. I would 100% DEFINITELY recommend going to him for surgery. He will put your health first, as he did with me seeing as I have a bleeding disorder. He kept in contact with my haematologist in Thunder Bay where I live, proving that he truly cares about the well being of his patients. If you're in Toronto, don't hesitate on Dr. Rival because he is amazing. And might I add... He is very easy on the eyes ;)

I have been considering a rhynoplasty for a long time. But I was worried about choosing the right doctor. Dr. Rival took the time to see me as a person and not just another person who was considering surgery. He made me feel comfortable and told me what to expect. I am one month post operation and I could not be more happy. Thanks Dr. Rival

I had my rhinoplasty by Dr. Rival 8 days ago. I had an ethnic nose: a very pronounced bump/profile and a droopy over-extended tip. I'd say my bones and skin were quite thick, and it was an extensive open septorhinoplasty. I cannot say enough good things. I travelled 6 hours each way to see him and it was worth it. He is empathetic and kind, not at all intimidating like some medical professionals can be. His team is excellent, from the nurses to the anesthesiologist. I was generally VERY anxious, but everyone was friendly and welcoming. I also often wake up thrashing from anesthesia, and they listened to and addressed all my concerns thoroughly, and the whole thing went very smoothly. I barely bled, I didn't need packing in my nose, and (especially given adequate medication) the pain was (and is) minimal. I didn't even need all my pain medication. It's more like pressure and throbbing than acute pain. I was pleased to see that the results are comparable to the photo reference I was given. Though I am still considerably swollen, I have a good idea of the result. My only issue - which I didn't foresee pre-op and did not specify I want changed to Dr. Rival (as he did everything I asked/we discussed) - is minimal, and when I contacted Dr. Rival's office, I was offered a very reasonable solution. This makes me feel like if I do end up dissatisfied I will not be hung out to dry, and is very reassuring. I would recommend him to anyone considering rhinoplasty.

Dr.Rival has strong expertise knowledge on rhinoplasty and chin augmentations. He does not pressure you to go with the decision. I would recommend him to those who are considering a rhinoplasty procedure.

I'm from Alberta and had my first two surgeries with a Calgary surgeon. I was still not happy so I flew to Ontario for #3 with Dr. Rival. My nose was complex-crooked, pointy, indenty, nostrils flared. My surgery was 12 days ago. He did grafting and tip was narrowed and reduced. I could tell how straight it was and how much better my nostrils looked even with the cast on. All staff were excellent ie Nadia. It is a very scary thing to go through – even the 3rd time because it’s your face and you want a nicer nose but one that still suits you. Dr. Rival is very calm, knowledgeable and realistic about what is possible. His skill level must be very high after addressing my gnarly nose and how pleased I am already even with the swelling still present. It is all about improvement not perfection and my nose has been hugely improved. I highly, highly recommend Dr. Rival. I felt he understood me and I understood him. I felt he was very sincere, caring and wanted to do his best for me.

I chose Dr. Rival based solely on his excellent reviews. He's very kind and handsome and his staff are excellent (especially his awesome anesthesiologist from South Africa), but holy smokes it's been over a month and I see almost zero difference. The people I didn't tell have noticed nothing, even members of my own family! The people I did tell are all, “Get your money back”. My daughter thinks they put me to sleep and just punched me in the face a few times. I get that this guy likes 'subtle', but come on. He seems to have carved ridges down the sides of my nose to make it appear thinner, except you can see the ridges. My nostrils are now different sizes and my nose is slightly bent to one side. My nose may have been big before, but at least it was straight and symmetrical. I have now paid over $7Gs for a huge nose with ridges and a bend. At least my original crappy nose was free. He said I won't see the full-effect for 6mths-1year. Yeah, ok. Complete waste of time and money.

I required a closed reduction for a nasal fracture as well as a septoplasty due to a very traumatic event in my life. Dr. Rival made the repair more easy and anxiety-free than I could have ever imagined. He walked me through everything he was going to do and calmed my nerves regarding the procedure. I had very minimal pain after and absolutely no swelling or bruising. This was my first surgery ever and Dr. Rival made it as quick and painless as possible. I would recommend him over and over again.

I'am Latina and I'am sorry to offend anyone this docter is suitable to get better result for caucasian people. he isn't that versatile with other ethnic backgrounds. I went to see him and he explained what he would do but he told me that the results will probably not be what i want sometimes. wow so optimistic. he also added there will be risks of breathing problems which means I would need to come in for a second operation. tell me about making me feel uncomfortable with my decision. the operation would last 2 hours and cost around 7000. at the end he stepped up to open the door as to say this session is over i have other clients visited me. which is what i dont wamt in a docter to share less care for someone and leave them behind. iam seriously considering surgery in colombia at least they take care of you for a week. monitoring with proper care from nurses and fer you to recuperate quicker.
