Few doctors are as compassionate and interested in your hips or knees as Dr. Long. He clearly displays his profound desire to fix your hips or knees and wears confidence on a spot of his sleeve for all to see. He explains what the problem is and just what he plans to do about it. It is obvious that his sincere goal (in his life) is to repair as many of US as he possibly can and THAT is OK with me. How about YOU??

6/20/14 Dr William T. Long is a highly skilled man. I have dealt with surgery for a long time. The nausea, the emotional impact, the pain, the stress, the recovery were all difficult for me. In my entire history of surgery, none were as unique and smooth as the one I had with Dr. Long 12 weeks ago. It was the easiest surgery of my life & my usual job of giving 100% seemed a trivial task. I had both revisions that day. It wasn't just the computer surgery that was different. Dr Long's entire pre-op/post op procedures were significantly different. The surgery, anesthetics, recovery, pain management, catheter, weight bearing after surgery & the therapy were ALL different. Dr Long didn't just make one change in surgery. This man put together a plan that encompassed & focused on gathering yrs of past patient's negative experiences from surgeries. With each negative he found positive alternatives and implemented them. His team works with him regularly for 10 yrs. He is "The Man"!

My husband had a total knee replacement in 2006. It was done by Dr. Long at Centinella Hospital. The VA was responsible for this injury but it took for me to use my work insurance to get my husband's knee replaced. They also wanted to do the other knee, but my husband was too sick to have the surgery. We moved to St. Louis, Mo and have since then convinced the VA to do the surgery on the other knee.. His recovery time and everything was horrible compared to when Dr.Long did the surgery. We just wish he could have done both knees, but are still grateful for the one knee that he did do. He hasn't had any problems with that knee, except for the problems with the VA since we went to an outside doctor to have it fixed. Thank you Dr. Long for everything you did for us!! Dr. Long is outstanding at revising previous joint replacements as well as implanting new knee and hip joints. He is compassionate, knowledgeable and strictly business. He requires the best from his staff. I wound up with infection and Dr. Long's aggressive approach has me back on my feet and doing well. The teams he calls in for special needs are of high quality. His own "7th floor" team has been with him many years and perform the highest quality work from the nurses, physical therapist and intern staff to others he chooses to associate with.

Dr. Long revised a uni-lateral knee for me that was performed by another MD.It failed almost immediately after the operation but I suffered for three years before going to Dr. Long who assessed a need for a total knee repair. He was very concerned about pain management and made sure that my pain needs were one of his priorities before surgery, in the hospital, and during my recovery period. He's the greatest!! I walk now without any problems.!!!
