I like him and his staff. Office inefficiencies are legend, but getting better with a new office manager. He can be careless- be sure to go over your protocols with him carefully and fax him with questions/issues for best results. Verbal communications with staff tend to get lost in the shuffle. I had a serious complication once that didn't reach his ears until two weeks down the line- not cool. But once you learn how to manage the office inadequacies and be your own advocate, I think he's worth it. Very knowledgable, thoughtful and open-minded.

I ahve been seeing him for a year now and i like him personally, nice, listens, etc. Everyone in his office is noce and personable BUT you can not ever get them to answer questions, they have a huge lack of communication. I have been on antibiotics for 7 months and I ahve been unable to get to him because i live 5 hours away and they said they will not refill until I get back in there.I was last seen in sept and had 2 phone consultations since then. So now I am off meds and I am feeling horrible. Weather has been a deturant of getting there. (snow) I am really bummed that they do not care more about you than that. The meds are not something that should be interupted. But I do believe he knows what he is talking about.

Dr. Harris is very knowledgeable about Lyme Disease. He treats you but if he can find someone closer to you he refers you to them to save you $. He then confers with that doctor about your treatment.

Excellent MD, especially if you need a LLMD. Dr. Harris is extremely patient oriented. He's knowledgeable & open-minded w/ a knack for practicing evidence-based medicine, customized to each individual patient. At times, I have had to wait for my appointment, but he's worth the wait. When you get his time, he gives 100% attention. He knows his stuff. Really listens. Sees each patient & case as unique. In my case, he gave accurate & comprehensive diagnoses, successful treatments, & helped heal me to the core (Lyme disease, un/misdiagnosed 10yrs). Before finding Dr. Harris, I went to ~dozen other doctors. Dr. Harris is the best LLMD -- hands down. In only 6 months, he has brought me back to life, literally. I've made more progress with him than I did during the entire previous decade (1999-2009). Amazing! I strongly recommend Dr. Harris without hesitation, especially for those struggling with Lyme disease & complex long-term illnesses. He is A+ excellent!

I have been seeing Dr. Harris for 3 years now and am so surprised to read some of the negative comments here. He is the most gentle and caring professional I have dealt with throughout the course of my illness (I have seen 37 medical professionals to date). He has helped me cope with Lyme and has pretty much given me my life back. One of the things I admire most about him is his willingness to support other members of my medical 'team' - chiropractors, naturopaths, physical therapists etc. He totally supports an integrated approach. I have also seen the naturopath who works from his office and she is a wonderful person. She took me from a point of feeling like I was rotting away to feeling like normal again (and is no more expensive than any other naturoapth). Also, eventhough Dr. Harris doesn't respond quickly to day to day questions, he is unbelievable in emergencies. When I ended up in hospital, he called me every day I was in there and for a week after. A fabulous Lyme doctor!

I have sent many people to Dr Harris, most are happy. Some who arent have been to multiple doctors and arent happy with any of them. I always tell the patients before they go to remember that there are only about 6 MD physicians on the west coast who have a long term history of treating Lyme disease, and the west coast comprised, CA, OR, WA, ID, AZ, UT, NV .While they think their symptoms are 'terrible" there are patients much worse off (on oxygen, in heart failure, on breathing machines and in full system failures). He sees the worst, so he knows when it is a TRUE emergency and he does respond. He also knows that for secondary issues when we get into a hospitalized situation, that we do have a primary physician for that hospitalization. The only negative I have is it is difficult to get him to send information to the PCPs for a more balanced approach.

Steve Harris is the best doctor I have ever seen. I have had Lyme & other TBDs for over 50 years. I could not walk, was bedridden due to overwhelming fatigue. Osteomyelitis from Lyme. Breathing problems, neurologic problems-just about every symptom on the list for Lymies. Kids born w/Lyme+TBDs. He has cured 1 child & saved the life of the other as well as mine. Incredible bedside manner. I have NEVER witnessed a temper tantrum. Office is poorly managed but that is because he spends all his time on his patients. He is NOT a primary care dr. If you need non-Lyme treatment, see your primary care dr. Not EVERYTHING is due to Lyme. I have recommended many patients to Steve & all have been satisfied.

Excellent Lyme doc, deeply knowledgeable about all the tick-borne coinfections, caring and attentive. Got me back on my feet and back to work (part time for now) after 2 decades of illness. Saved the hubby's life. Not cheap, but very reasonable for the high level of care and knowledge. Stays in close touch with the rest of the Lyme medical community and consults with them, and is not threatened by different modalities or other docs. Very willing to work and share knowledge with other health providers, not limited to MDs. Has seen a ton of patients and has a huge range of experience. Sticks by his patients -- will refer patients to other practitioners and still stay in touch with them if his approach doesn't work for that particular person.
