31/07/13 2 1 1 1 Dr. Galloway is very hard to see without many weeks of advanced notice. She has a poor, almost insensitive, bedside manner, especially with children. Dr. Galloway has misdiagnosed several maladies for members of our family.  Respond

06/04/11 4 3 1 3 I was Doctor Galloway's patient for 4 years, and in that four years I was only able to get 1 appointment with her. I'm a grad student and her schedule was extremely unaccomodating. Had to wait nearly 6 months for a physical, which I needed to have for a prescription renewal. She seems like a very friendly doctor, but I had to move practices.  Respond

07/03/11 5 4 5 5 Dr. Galloway is amazing. She is extremely thorough and has never brushed off my concerns. She always investigates. She is by far the best doctor I have ever had.  Respond

22/10/10 4 1 3 3 I resent having to pay a yearly fee for services I never use. There are two fee schedules one is basic and one extended but the only service I ever need is getting perscriptions re-filled over the phone. I would think this should be under the Basic services not extended. I dont think all doctors charge this yearly fee. Also long wait time because of double booking or triple booking.
Paid (or co-pay): $140

01/08/10 5 4 4 4 Dr. Galloway is an excellent. She is a very thorough doctor. She refers if she is unsure which is better than not checking at all. My last doctor was not thorough at all. I would highly recommend her to anyone!  Respond

21/07/10 5 3 5 5 She is incredible! She takes the time and is not afraid to make a mistake or admit she is unsure of something unlike many other arrogant docs in the medical profession. For those complaining that they have to wait....free health care mean anything? As for her sending people for tests because she is unsure? Maybe she is of the belief that you are better safe than sorry. Considering my son almost died because of the relaxed attitude of my last doc, I feel that her sending you for tests or on to specialists is brilliant. This is what a general family doctor should do considering there are others who have more experience in certain areas. Don't listen to the negative opinions, keep being who you are, I trust you with every decision regarding myself, my two kids and third to come. I appreciate everything you do.  Respond

02/06/10 5 3 1 1 I find Dr Galloway to be very unsure of herself and indecisive. she will say one thing at an appointment and change her mind the next time you see her. Not very helpful in real life issues such as stress and menopause. That is probably because she is too young to fathom the issues at hand when you get older. Offers lots of drugs, but does not get to the root of the problem. Very disheartened and disappointed in her.  Respond

05/03/10 2 3 5 5 I have been Dr. Galloway's patient for a couple of years. I have always found her to be an excellent doctor. She is thorough, caring and personable. I have on occasion had to wait, but sometimes a doctor cannot control the length of time it takes to fully assess and treat a patient. When I have needed her she has always been there. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her as a doctor, but I don't want her to have any more patients, I'm selfish like that. I appreciate that she takes the time to research drugs and dosages before she prescribes them. I am also grateful that she schedules all appropriate tests and pushed me to have an annual health, a procedure I generally avoid. Thanks to her, my uterine cancer was detected fairly early and I continue to enjoy reasonably good health.  Respond

29/12/09 5 2 5 5 I've been with Dr. Galloway for a few years now and feel lucky to call her my doctor. She looks at the whole picture rather than making assumptions and drawing quick conclusions. I feel comfortable knowing she will look for a cause opposed to just using a band-aid solution to treat symptoms. I've seen a few comments on here from people who seem to think she is a little over cautious or lacks confidence. All I can say is that they have obviously been fortunate enough not to be or know people to have suffered for years after being miss diagnosed or brushed aside. A thorough doctor is not always easy to come by in our over-burdened health care system and I am thankful to have found her. My only complaint is the excessive wait times. I have regularly waited approx. 1 hour after my scheduled appointment time, but I would consider this more of a scheduling issue than the fault of the Dr. herself.  Respond

20/10/09 5 3 5 4 I love Dr. Galloway. She has been my family doctor for the past 2 years. When she is unsure of a problem, she will send you to someone who might be able to figure it out. I'd rather a doctor that sends you to a specialist for answers than a doctor that just brushes you off. Because of her I have determined what my medical condition is and am currently getting treatment and help for it. My previous doctor kept saying "it was normal". Now I'll be able to have babies and am happy to have her as a family doctor.  Respond

18/06/09 5 4 4 4 Overall, Dr. Galloway is basically a good doctor, but seems to lack the confidence needed to make accurate judgements on her own. I am a fairly young person who never seems to leave her office without being sent to another test, many of which I feel are not necessary. Her referrals to specialists seems to be excessive, but that may be a symptom of her lack of experience. On the whole, however, I would prefer to have a physician who practices with the "better safe than sorry" attitude, and Dr. galloway is certainly someone I would want to keep track of my health.  Respond

25/02/09 5 3 5 5 Highly recommended by our entire family. Great respect for her patience and ability to listen. Went above and beyond her duties for my mother-in-law during her extended stay at JoBrant. Follows up on recommendations and referrals. Treats the person, not just the body.  Respond

06/02/09 5 4 5 5 Dr Galloway has been nothing short of terrific. She's cheerful, caring and intelligent. If she does not have the answer for you immediately - she will go and get it. Which I appreciate much more than a doctor who gives me a false diagnosis. And may I remind those of you who believe she must be at our beck and call - she is entitled to a life as well. I for one would much prefer my doctor to have a well balanced life and stick around for a while then overwork herself and retire or leave family practice all together!  Respond

07/01/09 5 4 5 5 My wife, son and myself have been patients of Dr. Galloway since we moved to the neighbourhood. I'm concerned that some of the comments in my opinion are unfair. I don't know how long she's been practicing but I'll assume it hasn't been that long since she is younger. However regardless of her age I appreciate her knowledge which is still more than I know, her attention to detail has been unprecedented. If anyone complains about going to a specialist I don't understand why. If she's unsure about something then she has a right to send you to an expert in the field, that's why they're experts. All of our experiences have been nothing short of great, her staff is always ready to assist and is friendly. I would highly recommend Dr. Galloway to any new comers in the Oakville, Burlington areas. With this terrible health care system it's about time we find a doctor that cares rather than Drs. who move patients along like an assembly line.  Respond

11/11/08 5 5 5 5 I LOVE Dr. Galloway and her staff. This is the most thorough Doctor I've ever had. She is keen, well-researched and fresh. She's up on everything new going on. As for the comments about her days available, she's a new Mom from what I understand and I can book anytime, so I'll support her in maintaining a busy practice and raising a family. Good work!  Respond

29/10/08 5 1 1 1 I would not recommend this doctor to anybody. She has all the qualities to make your condition worse, instead of better. First she is hardly ever available for an appointment, so your condition is allowed to progress. When you do get to see her, she either talks about herself or seems not to understand what your symptoms are due to. This leads to an incorrect prescription, and further pain on your behalf. The bottom line is that she is a very negligent physician. Visit her at your own risk!  Respond

29/10/08 4 1 1 1 The supporting staff are excellent. She herself is never on time or whenever you want an appointment, she is off. Rather she is off most of the time. Was her patient for two years. As far as knowledge is concerned I do not believe it is because she is just out of school. More likely does not keep up with the literature, is not confident about prescribing drugs apart from the basic ones. Refers you to a specialist too often which is not a bad thing but it is usually for something very minor( lack of Knowledge) which if had she had the knowledge she could have solved, so that by the time you see the specialist your condition is almost beyond repair...... which is what happened to me. Sure she is a very nice person, but if she cannot make the right judgement at the critical time what is the point? I have had many doctors and she was the worst.  Respond

08/05/08 5 4 5 5 I had the same family doctor for 20 years and when she closed her practice I was transferred to a clinic which was horrible! So I found Dr. Galloway on the cpso website and luckily got in. She's extremely respectful and patient, taking the time to book longer appointments when necessary. When I've had questions she's not sure of, she always does the research and follows up with a phone call. I feel very lucky to be one of her patients.  Respond

04/04/08 4 3 5 5 I found Dr. Galloway through the "College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario" website. She was accepting new patients at the time so when I went to go meet her for the first time, I was very impressed. She's young and newly out of med school. Even though I haven't had her as my doctor long, I did have my first annual check up two days ago and she told me many things that my last doctor never informed me of. For example, she told me that being on the BC pill and having high blood pressure is not a good thing. It increases my chance of heart problems significantly. So now she's sending me for tests and stuff because apparantly I also have a heart murmur (something my last doctor never said). At least I know she cares. She's willing to help me fix my problems. I feel very comfortable with her as she looks only a few years older than me. She is great. Mind you our first visit she double booked for the whole day and I was an hour late getting in. Not a good first impression.  Respond

19/07/07 4 5 5 5 Moved to Burlington and found her online as a doctor taking new patients. Am considering myself lucky to have found her. Timing for a complete physical, including wait time, was 1 hour. She's punctual, efficient, and personable.  Respond

23/06/07 4 4 2 She is a nice doctor, takes time to listen to patients concern. The problem we had is that she isnt very knowledgeable and she scared us with inacurate information, but then at another appointment she said she was sorry for telling us something which she found out to be incorrect.  Respond

22/05/07 5 5 5 Dr. Galloway is the best family doctor I have had. She's approachable, kind, and extremely caring. I'm so glad that my husband and I are her patients. I would recommend her to anyone and strongly believe all doctors should be more like her. Thank you Dr. Galloway for your knowledge and exceptional helpfulness.  Respond

13/04/07 5 5 5 My physician retired. A clinic gave me her name. Called for an appointment--given a date for an interview--VERY VERY IMPRESSED. Was accepted as a patient. Could not be any happier. Friendly and obliging staff. Dr. G. very caring, knowledgeable and pleasant. I am a recent retiree who, will probably need a good doctor as the aging process hasn't been that kind to me, and I have definitely found a GREAT one in Dr. V. Galloway. Would highly recommend her.  Respond
