16/09/13 5 5 5 5 Dr. Nikolakis recently saw my son and was very kind and knowledgeable. He explained my sons condition thoroughly and answered all of questions. We are very grateful to have seen him. His office is a very busy place, but it is also very well run. We were lucky to get the referral to him because we would have been waiting much longer to be seen if my son had been referred elsewhere. Also, want to mention that he has newer secretary who is very kind and helpful even though it is very busy there. I was worried because I read about his staff on here, but that was his old girl. This one is nice, so I worried over nothing.  Respond

06/11/12 4 5 5 5 Almost 30 years of suffering, my GP made an appt. with Dr. Nikolakis and in a matter of few months I was in surgery. I'm in recovery now, it's a slow process but I'm getting better every day. I can walk straight, no cane or walker anymore. I can truly say, Dr. Nikolakis is one of the best I had as a surgen. I highly recommend him to anybody with serious health problems. He give back the quality of life, his kind and caring. Thank you Dr. Nikolakis for giving back my life.

17/10/12 4 4 5 5 I wonder if the very few negatives comments about this doctor are from people who are looking for an excuse to get insurance money and not a real diagnosis. Dr. Nikolakis is the most knowledgable doctor I have ever had contact with. He is professional and compassionate and does not seem the type of person to tolerate people with imagined aches and pains when there are so many people out there with real injuries. Thank you Dr. Nikolakis for being so consistent and professional.  Respond

14/09/12 3 3 5 5 Lifesaving help in emergency. Third visit to emerg in Aug. he said wrong tests being done on my husband. He knew what was wrong almost immediately, ordered CT and MRI and confirmed his diagnosis, saved my husbands life. Family Dr. said two more days, he would have been gone. Hard to reach his office.  Respond

04/09/12 5 5 5 5 Dr. Nikolakis is in kamloops now. He is new to our city. Very busy, as he has an excellent reputation. Very good doctor, smart and to-the-point. Did a great job fixing my neck. But he is not chatty, so be prepared for a short visit. I would highly recommend him for neck surgery.  Respond

22/08/12 5 5 5 5 Dr. Nikolakis is absolutely amazing. He fixed my scoliosis which had been causing me severe pain for 6 years. I had seen many specialists and everyone said that it was too difficult and dangerous to fix. Dr. Nikolakis did surgery on me, which apparently took 16 hours!!! I came through without a hitch, and now I feel better then I have in over 6 years. I'm even off my morphine. Absolutely amazing surgeon.  Respond

10/08/12 2 5 1 5 Saw the doctor,he said I,m surprised that you are still walking after I examined your mri your back is very bad.You need surgery as soon as possible. More than one surgery will probably be required.I have to speak with another neurologist for an apt.this will be as quickly as possible about two weeks. In the meantime I visited my gp.totally different story here.In his report to the gp he said that surgery was not needed. The report was sent to the gp after I had brought in my medical Ins. report from my union to be filled out by him.(neurologist) It cost 150.00 up front. I,m in constant severe pain my left leg is numb, causing falls now the other leg is going numb too.I,m at my wits end.We were given hope then had it dashed.HELP  Respond

12/05/12 1 5 5 5 Dr Nikolakis is fantastic. He is smart and skilled. I healed up in 8 days and was able to resume pool therapy for the remainder of my 12 week recovery. He is kind, compasionate, thorough, gentle and shares his results in a way that is meaningful to the patient. I certainly appreciated getting copies of my xrays to help me better understand the procedure. Very very nice man! His office girl however can be very abrupt on the phone. She caused me to cry and I was only trying to follow up re timing of surgery as requested to do so by my employer and my doctor. She needs to remember people waiting for spinal surgery have likely been in pain for 2-3 years and are fragile. Rudeness has no place when speaking to potential clients. I get it - part of her job is to screen his calls but people do require up to date information. It is her job to provide that! Kindness goes way farther than rudeness. She does not serve him well!  Respond

15/04/12 1 5 5 5 Myhusband and I went to see the good doctor on Wednesday and were advised to check in through emergency that same day, due to the hospital over load the surgery didn’t take place until Friday night. Dr. Nikolakis bed side manner is the best I have ever in countered; he is very knowledgeable and is willing to take the time to make you feel safe and sound. I agree with the rest of the comments regarding his MOA, he really needs to find a new one.  Respond

29/02/12 1 5 5 5 I recently saw Dr. Nikolakis and was very impressed with his knowledge of what my problem was. He took the time to explain things to me in a very kind and caring manner. His office assistant was one of the rudest and most unhelpful people I have ever met. She made me feel like I was interrupting her in some way when I asked for help making an appointment. It disgusted me how her attitude became sweet when the doctor appeared.  Respond

06/02/12 1 4 4 5 Dr. Nikolakis recently moved to Kamloops, BC and we were happy to have a new neurosurgeon in town due to the high demand. He seemed very knowledgeable, confident, and willing to help. Can't say the same about his MOA, she was flat out rude, and not willing to help, like I was being a huge nuisance because I needed an appointment.(Don't count on her to help you...) Luckily you CAN count on the Doctor... He treated me great after my surgery and informed me of exactly what happened and how I should expect to recover.  Respond

09/11/11 2 4 5 5 I attended a consultation with Dr. Nikolakis and was very pleased with his excellent knowledge and the level of detail he used when describing the surgical procedure he was recommending. He made me feel very comfortable about the procedure and made sure I didn't leave with any unanswered questions. Unfortunately, my surgical date was postponed multiple times on very short notice and I later found out that it was due to paperwork that was missing (or not submitted) as part of a privilege application so Dr. Nikolakis was not yet allowed to operate privately. I found this to be quite disappointing and feel that it is unprofessional to schedule surgeries prior to receiving final approval for a surgeon to operate privately, but this is not the fault of Dr. Nikolakis. I give Dr. Nikolakis 5/5 and the administrative staff 2/5 as I don't agree with them booking surgeries prior to approval of privilige applications. The admin staff were friendly but were very difficult to reach by phone.

29/07/10 3 1 5 5 He's an excellent Neurosurgeon showed me my CT scan results and explained it very well. The only downside is he is very busy and you have to wait a while in the waiting room...but its worth the wait! I'd recommend him to anyone the only problem he's leaving for a year.  Respond

03/05/10 1 1 1 1 I was ushered into what looked like a closet/janitor room...he checked my reflexes, asked where the pain was, and said no surgery..it's arthritis. Take Advil. THEN!!! He clapped his hands and said, "Well, I gotta go!" It took less than 10 minutes!!! Then it took from Mar.26th, 2010 (appt date) until today (May 3/10)to get a copy of his so-called report!!! My family Dr. still has not received it!!! I finally got thru to their receptionist and had it faxed to where I was employed!!! Disgraceful!!!!  Respond

17/03/10 5 2 5 5 I have had past back surgeries and was scheduled for another with a differnt neurosurgeon but cancelled. Thank goodness! Dr. Nikolakis did something that I had never experienced before. He sat down and showed my my MRI scans and explained everyting, answered questions, listened to my symptoms, but most importantly, explained why surgery would NOT benefit me!!! He also told me that I could call his office directly at any time to schedule an appointment to see him. No more doing to my GP for another referral. I have been living with pain, weakness and numbness for years. Finally a doctor that is willing to stick around and wait for a better answer than to just cut me open....again! He's young, compassionate, caring and he LISTENS!!! The best doctor I have seen in the 8 years I have been dealing with this. Definitely worth seeing!( He was running 1/2 hour late but he takes time with his patients....I would rather wait 3 hours than see someone else!)  Respond

25/02/10 1 3 5 5 Very kind, caring, compassionate doctor. Dr. N has a fresh new insight into surgery, just out of school. However the office is disorganized and his staff is lacking in the caring, compassion department.  Respond
