1/16/13 5 4 5 5 The doctor was pleasant and professional. She made me feel very comfortable during my first-ever gyn exam. I had a lot of questions and she took the time to answer them

12/10/11 1 3 1 3 This doctor refuses to speak with patients on the phone. I just had a visit the day before and had a question and she said to schedule another apt. To get it answered. She just cares about money and not the care of her patients.

12/6/10 2 2 1 2 Doctor was very cold and impersonal. She didn't seem to care about the questions that were being asked or act like she cared in the slightest. I would never go back to her again. I have a $30 copay that I had to inform the woman at the desk about and she argued with me that it was only $20. I finally said ok paid the $20 and now they send me bills every month for $10 for the error they made. Everything about the experience was unpleasant.  Respond

3/4/10 1 1 1 1 I had my pap smear with Dr. Melamud on Jan. 28 2010. She TOLD me I would receive a call if the test was abnormal. Two weeks went by and no call, so I expected everything was fine. I CALLED on March 3 2010 to discuss my expensive Lab Bill. The receptionist then told me that my test was abnormal. They had my results for over TWO weeks. The receptionist had the AUDACITY to give ME an ATTITUDE. She told me she is "very" busy. How long does it take to make a phone call in regards to someone's HEALTH. I immediatly went to another doctor the same day, to discuss my results. When they called the office to have them fax over my medical records, the office was closed for lunch. They have time to close the office down for lunch but no time to call a patient with abnormal pap smear results????????????? I was crying so hard, I could barely speak to my new doctor. I have never been treated so poorly by a medical office.  Respond

8/17/09 2 1 3 2 Do not use this doctor. Nice lady but appointments will run late and she did not show up for my Birth. There was a on call doctor I never meet before in my life! I had no clue I was going to been seen by a on call doctor when they work as a group practice..Jeffrey & Elaine and they were not around the following week when I got sick and needed meds from them after my birth.I had a on call doctor again!

5/28/09 2 2 1 2 Although I would have liked to, I have nothing remotely positive to say about Dr. Melamud and her practice. I was a patient there for over 4 years, and throughout that time, I have become accustomed to curt, annoyed, sometimes downright rude receptionists and office staff, and every visit is an unpleasant one. For starters, the office is old, unkempt, and dirty - on numerous occasions, I have had the pleasure of witnessing tiny bugs crawling on the floor while waiting in the room for upwards of half an hour each visit. To make matters worse, when the doctor would arrive to attend to me, she was cold, abrupt, and seemed inconvenienced by my routine exam appointment. When I asked questions, she would condescendingly give me short, textbook answers. She never once explained anything without me asking first. Her beside manner is among the worst I've seen, and would not recommend her to any woman I know. Only see this doctor if you have absolutely no other options.

10/8/08 2 2 1 3 I am currently having a very negative experience with this physician. After an abnormal pap, I had to under go a colposcopy which was not explained to me in any detail. She was quick during that procedure and the facilities were clean. However a week later, I called the office to find out the results and a nurse told me that the results had indeed come in, despite the fact that they failed to notify me. Even worse, she sad the resuls were "much worse" than the doctor thought and she then promptly scheduled me for a LEEP procedure. I am utterly scared and frightened. For the past three days, I have called on multiple occassions to find out the severity of my results and have yet to speak to any physician or find out any further information.

9/22/08 1 2 1 3 I was disgusted by my entire experience with Dr. Melamud. I am currently in the middle of my 1st pregnancy, and unfortunately I am high risk. She took days to return my phone calls (sometimes she never even did), and acted like I was stupid for even having questions. At times, I felt that if I went into labor on the floor in my house, she wouldn't care. Although it is obvious that she is knowledgeable, she has the bedside manner of a robot, and made me feel like the problems I was having were my fault, and were completely unimportant. I had an incompetent cervix - which I could do nothing about - and after 6 weeks of chasing after her to get her to answer my questions, I gave up and switched doctors. By that point, I felt that I didn't even trust her answers to my questions, or her ability to get me safely through my pregnancy. The office staff is also rude and unhelpful, the whole experience was just horrible!

5/8/08 3 3 3 4 Dr. Melamud performed my first c section. Her "bed side manner" skills arent the best. When she explains things it tends to be very "textbook-y." i think she is a nice person but when looking for a doctor, especially for maternity issues I prefer one who is a bit more personable. Like another poster i too switched to the other doctor, who performed my second c section. I think Dr. Melamud is fine for a doctor that you see once a year for general checkups. Like the previous poster stated there are "hormonal" patients. But hormones are to be expected with pregnancy or fertility issues and in my opinion an ob/gyn is not just treating a fetus but also the mother carrying it and that uncludes appropriate responces to people in "hormonal" states.

4/22/08 5 5 4 5 I think that patients need to take some of these other comments with caution!Remember that this is an Ob/Gyn and a lot of these women are very hormonal.I was in the office a couple of times when patients have been extremely rude to the staff. I think people forget that the staff is not responsible if the doctor is running late and shouldn't be crucified for it!! I would for an insurance company and sometimes it's not the staff that makes mistakes, it's the insurance company. If I was picking a doctor I would definetly pick Dr. Melamud because she is caring, she's down to earth and she does treat you like your human! I think some of the other patients don't need an Ob/Gyn for their "problems" they need a therapist! You can't please everyone.

3/10/08 3 3 5 5 I've been using this doctor for 6 years. Prior to using Dr. Melamud I saw Dr. Beauchamp Sr. (same practice) who has since retired. I agree with the comments that the office has aged and is no longer bright looking, however it is clean. I have had two appointments rescheduled as the doctor had to leave to deliver babies. Once she was at the hospital but I was given the option of seeing Dr. Beauchamp Jr., which I accepted. The wait is often long, if you are scheduled for PM. I highly recommend going into work a little late and grabbing an AM appointment instead. The office staff seems to turn over frequently.

1/23/08 1 2 1 1 Visited her office for annual gyn checkup and had few questions as I was trying to get pregnant for sometime. I started explaining my gyn previous related issues (I know the importance of keeping record of medical history and symptoms)- hormones, periods etc. But all she did was sit in front of me without any response or acknowledgement of information or any comments! At the end of my explaining she said " all this is normal and regular period related issue"!!! I was surprised as I'm diagnosed with hormonal imbalance which can effect getting pregnant; but she was least bothered. I found her behaviour cold and not ready to answer questions or pay attention to detail. Their office messed up my bills- admin staff is rude. I must agree with the other comment here about the clinic being dirty- YES it is very dirty. Don't waste time at this Dr.'s office. I'm now looking for a more professional OBGYN.

11/10/07 1 1 1 1 Horrible communication and service! I never got to know her because I never saw her. She wasn't in for half of my visits. Apparently she is also pregnant and never informed me that she may not be around for my delivery. I had to switch drs at 34 weeks. At that point I knew nothing about labor. I didn't know who was delivering my baby, or where I was delivering. For all my visits, I was just rushed in and out. I never had time to ask questions. When I tried to ask about childbirth classes I was just handed a class list for the hospital. I had to ask about test results each time.

10/23/07 3 3 4 4 Dr. Melamud comes highly recommended by my former ob/gyn and by a friend of mine. I'm just getting to know her as a doctor and really like her so far, but have to mention that the doctor's office may be the dirtiest doctor's office I've ever been in. Literally, the floors need to be mopped, the cabinets look grimey, the bathroom was germ-central, everything in the office just seemed not hygienic. Even though she comes highly recommended, I'm thinking twice of going to a place where cleanliness is not the first order of business.
