18/06/14 1 1 1 1 I found it immensely disturbing that all of the cures that Dr. Winer suggested for me involved expensive products made by the company that he is part owner of, none of which have been independently assessed in any way. His bedside manner is non-existent if you express any curiosity or skepticism at all, and he seems recklessly convinced of the superiority of his beliefs. The message of eating more natural foods is a good one, but this practice seems intent on taking it to the extreme and profiteering off of impressionable and desperate people. I will not be returning, as Dr. Winer's operation seems like a bit of a scam.

16/05/14 4 4 5 5 Arthritis specialists treated me for rheumatoid arthritis with Enbrel and Methotrexate for 6 years. A coworker started the same medicines and died from cancer in a year. I sought an alternative. Dr Winer determined I had an extreme sensitivity or allergy to dairy. I eliminated dairy from my diet and no longer needed any medication. After living dairy free for 2 years I asked Dr Winer to treat me for dairy allergy. The treatment worked. I am living well and happy thanks to Dr Winer and his knowledge. Others complain about what they perceive as his being rude. He believes each of us are responsible to get educated about our own health and he teaches continually on the radio and 5 times a year at his Wellness events. I follow his lead and at 64 I'm doing great. He's not your Nanny and don't expect him to feel sorry for you. He's a resource and gives away so much information for you to learn. I highly recommend him and his team of health associates!

01/12/13 2 2 2 3 Yesterday was very busy at Winer Wellness...As a customer I think that the metal testing could have been more organized. No one ever told us that we needed to know our blood type in order for the test to be accurate. It seems as if $$$ is the whole game in this business...at all costs! Also Dr. Messino who was performing the tests in the office could have done all blood types for those who did not know what blood type they were. It would have added an extra 5-10 minutes to the office visit. A print out of the results would have been nice as well.  Respond

21/08/13 3 2 2 2 I started following Mr. Winer on the radio as a way to become more educated about natural health. Despite his many years in the field, it is hard to believe that he has no empathy for his patients. He is so rude on the radio and just likes talking about himself. How can a man who preaches natural health get so fat? It is also curious that virtually every response from him requires the purchase of one or many 'supplements' but no prices are given. I am in serious doubt of this man's authenticity.  See Responses

02/03/13 3 3 1 1 I just heard him tell a lady NOT to vaccinate her kids because it's "the same as anti-freeze or nail polish remover." What?! If you don't want to vaccinate, fine, but don't refuse it because of hog-wash like this. A simple Google search will reveal his "knowledge."  See Responses

25/02/13 3 2 1 1 Terrible. Didn't listen to a word I said about what kind of health issues I was having. Just talked over me and spoke about himself. What he suggested I take (which of course he made $ off of) actually made my symptoms worse...and if he would have gave me a chance to speak I could have told him that. I am all about alternative medicine because I think the medical model is all about masking symptoms with medications they make money off of, but he was just as terrible as them. Totally unhelpful and only out to make a buck. Which he will also tell you about how much money he makes! Ridiculous. Look elsewhere if you want a DR who will listen to what YOU have to say.  Respond

15/01/13 3 3 3 3 Over years of listening to the various radio shows he does, i have difficulty believing a man who states that he dropped nearly 60 pounds but proclaims to be a strict vegan vegetarian. How does he put on 60 plus pounds? I went to the office once and walked in and left. There were tall weeds at the entrance. Unclean atmosphere in my opinion. If that's the entrance to a wellness center.......  See Responses

07/08/12 1 1 1 1 I made an appt. to see Dr. Winer after talking to him on the radio and he told he could get me off Neurontin (which he said was very toxic), used to treat Trigeminal Neuralgia.I was 85% pain-free.My impression with his staff was not great, but I was impressed with Dr. Orbacher who gave me a manipulation.I saw Jacob, who was very overweight, & smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. He began pressing on areas of my neck asking if I could feel anything in my cheek. All I could feel was him pressing on my neck. Then he moved to my cheek and pressed very, very hard. After a couple minutes, I told him to stop. The next day, I began to have strong flare-ups in my cheek, and since then(7/24/12), the pain has become increasingly more severe.I contacted my neurosurgeon,he said the flare up was likely caused by pressure Jacob put on my cheek and did not know whether the nerve would quiet down. Clearly Jacob did not know anything about TN,because of his “treatment” I now have more pain then ever!  Respond

23/05/12 5 3 3 3 I have no idea if this guy is good or not....he very well may be but I never had the chance to officially see him because I had to run out of the building because I realized he kept a Cat in the office. I have severe life threatening allergies to many things, including Cats, which have landed me in the hospital many times and I have been on allergy shots. Fortunately, because its spring allergy season I took a heavy dose of allergy medications and my inhaler and other allergy treatments an hour before the appointment. I can't imagine had I not done that what would have happened. The doctor told my Husband he could have cured my allergies...but for me had I KNOWN there was a Cat there I never would have came to his office in the first place. My feeling is this is not the preferred or safe way to "test" whether he can cure me or not! I so wish this doctor well but hope in the future he does not keep animals in his office.  Respond

14/12/11 3 4 5 5 Dr.Winer is an intelligent and humble person, not out to make a buck on anyone.I worked in a hospital for 28 years on a oncology floor and i Know what im talking about!i can count on 1 hand, and not all the fingers of pts. that r still living. If the cancer doesnt kill you the chemo will!Get the chemo, come back 1 week later neutropenic, cant eat,can barely walk,no hair,go into a room full of STAFF Infections, the rooms are filthy, germs everywhere. NEVER put your head on a hospital pillow(i wont even go there)kidneys destroyed, the pts. dont FULLY understand the side affects, the surgeons are ****s,they make thousands on surgeries, they dont even call back when problems arise, they dont care! There IS a cure for cancer but it will never be let Known, cancer research funding and donations is a Billion Dollar industry, when you give your donations you might as well hand over your check directly to the CEO,the rich get richer. Its the truth. 25/08/11 5 5 5 5 I am a listener to Dr Winer on radio and am very impressed with his vast knowledge and how helpful, understanding, and compassionate he is with the callers. That impression was confirmed going to his office. The waiting room is very cozy even though large, beautifully appointed, with a home-like feel rather than the usual cold institutional look. The reception staff could not be friendlier or nicer. I got a chance to interact with a few of the other patients who all agreed how lucky Pittsburgh is to have such a center with Dr Winer. He himself is very warm and sincerely interested in helping others. He is a good listener and very patient. The cost of the visit was very nominal when you consider that he spent almost an hour with me, and addressed many separate health issues. I look forward to coming to the Winer Wellness Center again to see the muscle therapists who according to the patients in the office have done wonders for them.  Respond

03/07/11 5 4 5 5 Dr Winer and his staff are very warm, personable, sincere people. He has a wealth of knowledge about health and is VERY inexpensive. I had gone to another so-called natural doctor whose initial visit was $580. I went to there a dozen times and spent $7,000 and was WORSE! Dr Winer quickly diagnosed food allergies and recommended that I return for muscle therapy for my carpal tunnel and heel spur pain. I stayed off the foods that Dr Winer suggested, and my irritable bowel problems and headaches ceased. I came back for several trigger point muscle therapy sessions with his staff, and was shown stretch exercises to do at home. Both my carpal tunnel and heel pain have vanished! The therapy sessions were very inexpensive, only $45 for half an hour. I found the therapists to be extremely effective, and they could not have been nicer. Dr Winer is very dedicated to helping others, and gives a lot of free literature to people to further educate them, and answers questions of walk-ins for free!  Respond

18/05/11 3 1 1 1 I took my 5 year old to Dr. Winer. My son has constant sinus issues, is often on anitibiotics, has ear tubes, tonsils and adnoids removed. He made us wait 40 minutes past our appointment. Once we went into his messy "office" he TOLD me I need to stop vaccinating my son, and that I have already injured him by doing so. He "threw" a ton of papers at me outlining the horrors of vaccine. He looked at my son and said he needs to be off all dairy, this without testing him. Then he did his test and used his employee to "channel" my son's energy by pushing his employee's hand down as my son held some viles. He then told me that I am not an informed person, told me ALL ABOUT how he's been a vegetarian for 41 years (although he is not a healthy looking specimen) told me that I should listen to him on the radio. He asked nothing about my son, did nothing to examine him and only said he needs to be off dairy. He established no rapport with my son, infact was rude to us both!  See Responses

03/02/11 5 5 5 5 Dr Winer is an amazing person with a vast amount of health knowledge. He was able to figure out the cause of my health problems in a matter of minutes. In one session he eliminated my frozen shoulder, my back pain, and suggested I eliminate chicken and wheat which he found were triggering my arthritis. I followed his suggestions and he was RIGHT! Incidently, he looks a lot younger than his 64 years, a testament to his forty years of a healthy vegetarian diet. He has a full head of hair, and a youthful-looking face. I found him to be very attentive to what I was saying, asking many questions to determine my lifestyle habits. I have recommended numerous other people to him and his staff and all have reported back that they greatly benefitted from visiting his office. The initial visit ranges from $45-$90 or so depending upon how much time is spent and whether or not you get muscle therapy. Nutritional supplements are extra. We are very lucky to have him and his professional staff here.

21/12/10 2 2 4 4 Dr. Winer doesn't look like the picture, he looks considerably older. If you've ever been to a natural foods place, usually people are a bit more "natural" and scruffy looking. I don't care what he looks like, and if you went to the office hoping to find a bunch of attractive folks, then you have issues. I had a hiatal hernia which he fixed in about 5 minutes and he did not charge me extra for it. The nurse told me it would be about $50 for an appointment, and it was $75 plus they tried to get me to buy a whole pile of medicines, of which I bought one. I figured if I had the same problems, I could always go back and get them. My mom had her arthritis nearly cured though, which is amazing. I feel you can find out just as much from listening to his radio show and calling in as going into the office though. There is a blonde nurse who worked there who was EXTREMELY rude, and I was highly insulted by her comments to me. I cancelled my follow-up appointment because of her.

20/10/10 3 4 2 2 My wife and I went for lower back pain. We only saw Dr. Winer briefly and he was an overweight, sloppy-looking guy. Not at all what I expected...it was shocking. They told me over the phone that the visit would be $45.00 for me and my wife. Afterwards they gave us a bill for $500, they added muscle therapy for both of us as well as a host of supplements and a device to help back pain. We didn't buy these items and thus the bill was reduced to $350. They really pulled a bait and switch there. I feel he is not well educated by listening to his radio show. For example, he states vaccines have human embryos in them. This is not the case. Vaccines are cultured on a media that came from a cloned cell line that came from the DNA of a human embryo in the 60's. See, he is misleading. He misleads in his program, in what he can accomplish, in his own health status. I have listened to him alot and find fault in most everything he states.  Respond

13/06/10 3 3 1 1 Dr Winer advertises his picture as a young, healthy man; however, upon visiting his office I discovered he is in fact an overweight, unhealthy man with terrible dandruff. Moreover, he was rude, in fact he answered his personal cell phone in the middle of my visit (a personal call about an upcoming date, it was not another patient). He was not able to help my condition and did not address my other concerns or questions.
