I was referred to Dr. Rodriguez for an inguinal hernia. Surgery itself was fast and simple and recovery has been great. Four weeks later I am back to 90% of previous activities (and I am very active) thanks to his technique. His bedside manner is impeccable, with multiple follow-ups and his private cell number you feel like he is always there for you. And I never had to wait to see him for any of my visits. Thanks Doc.
Googled my way into the golden hands of Dr. Rodriguez. Six months since my incisional abdominal hernia surgery and feeling fine with much more energy. Dr. Rodriguez called to make sure I got home from the hospital, and proceeded to call every day for a week until I had my first follow up appointment.
Thank you for being such a great doctor, and an even greater person with care and compassion!
I had surgery for a inguinal hernia on November 7, 2014. The surgery was easy and surprisingly painless. I left the hospital an hour after the surgery, and was able to go for a walk later. I took a couple of tylenols that night but hardly needed them. Dr. Rodriguez called the next day to check in which I appreciated. He had been in touch pre-surgery as well and everything went according to what he had told me. He is a kind and caring doctor and it was the best money I've ever spent. I would highly recommend him to all.
In June 2014 I finally dealt with an inguinal hernia I had suffered with for over 3-4 years. Dr. J. Rodriguez was knowledgeable, kind, professional, and reassured me immediately. I had done too much internet 'research', read alarming stories, and seeing Dr. Rodriguez--even before the surgery--was a giant weight off my shoulders. The pre-op care, the surgery itself, and especially the post-op care went by totally without incident, largely because Dr. R. is amazingly good at what he does. Local anesthetic was used, the surgery was less than 90 minutes from start to end, and I only dealt with any pain whatsoever for less than 1 day. If you have been delaying treatment out of fear, call him! The weekend after the surgery he called me every morning at 8 am. He saw me 4 times spaced about 4-8 weeks apart to make sure all healing was on schedule. He provides a detailed schedule, information, and instructions when one first sees him so the patient is actively engaged in their own cure and recovery. I have had zero complication or residual pain--and we are now 4 months later--and I have just seen him for the last follow-up. My 5 star ratings are no empty gesture--they are earned! I have absolutely no regrets except I should have sen him sooner. My scar is invisible, my hernia is gone, and the extremely small, almost negligible amount of discomfort I suffered was less than many dental surgeries. I am mobile and physically active, my worries are gone, and on top of all that, Dr. Rodriguez is an all-around nice guy. I would sincerely [I am a real person btw!] not hesitate to recommend him for any hernia surgery you may require--he is Montreal's Hernia Fix Magician! GDB
In Late July of this year I suffered a inguinal hernia after working out in the gym. A neighbour of mine gave me Dr.Rodriguez’s phone number explaining to me that he was not in the public system. I called him to make an appointment. My jaw dropped when he said he would see me the following day. I was convinced that I would have to suffer for months before getting an appointment this was a pleasant surprise to be seen so quickly! On my first visit I was totally blown away by his “bed side manner”. He was a breath of fresh air. His explanations and advice were complete. He walked me through all aspects of the operation and at the end of the appointment I was totally satisfied and booked the surgery. All went as planned. I was empresses by the post operation follow up. Everyday @9:00 he called to ask how I was doing. How many people can say that when using the public system? Dr. Rodriguez is a fine doctor I would recommend him to anyone who suffered from a hernia. Thank you
7 years ago Dr. Rodriguez operated my inguinal hernia (right). That same night I went playing cards with my friends. They did not believe I had undergone surgery that very day.
July 2014: Another hernia, this time left side. Phone call to Dr. Rodriguez, appointment the following day, 4 days later operation. Perfect! Used 2 Tylenol that night, felt so comfortable and fit that I played golf 5 days after the operation, however without the doc knowing (for golf players: Due to an easier and less powerful swing the balls went straight and longer than usually!). He formally allowed me to play golf after 2 weeks. Service is just incredible, Dr. Rodriguez makes you feel safe and well. I also liked that he does not use antibiotics! Would like to give him 6 stars in the rating. JK from Germany
Dr. Rodriguez performed a repair on my inguinal hernia. I was amazed at his skill. He operated on me on a Friday morning and he told me that I would be able to go back to work the following Monday. I was not disappointed! In fact, I went to work by Metro that Monday. Dr. Rodriguez is very thorough when explaining the process. He offers his cellular phone number in case you need to contact him. He called me at home the night of the surgery and again on the following two mornings. Everything was exactly as he predicted. I had so little pain that I never needed to take the codeine that he prescribed and was fine with the anti-inflammatory (Voltaren) 5 days, and one Tylenol at night before bed the first 3 nights. No additional pain-killers required during the day. One month has passed since my surgery and I am back at Yoga class doing all poses with no discomfort. I was able to walk home from work (6.5 km) one week after the surgery! I recommend Dr. Rodriguez wholeheartedly.
